Guys, how do you draw your comics?

Old school pen and ink. Allows me to get away from my computer for a few hours a day.

I use a 19 inch yiynova mspu+ and clip studio. I can't recommend either of these highly enough. The tablet does take some patience setting up however. But once you get over that hurdle it's smooth sailing.

I use an old tablet genius mouse pen 8x6 and SAI to draw everything and colouring, for effects CLIP (because I don't know how to use it well...) And also for dialogues.

I use a small wacom intous tablet and the program is SAI for everything as I don't have time to switch back and forth from photoshop, I post long webtoon-y episodes per week so I basically toke out everything that bored me in comic making, which mainly included the lineart as well as adding text in photoshop (I do the text by hand)

So yeah it's a mix of traditional and digital.

I first hand draw my comic, then I take it into photoshop trace it, color and shade it with my wacom bamboo tablet.

I draw and color directly into Photoshop Elements 9 using a Wacom Intuos 3. PS Elements is limiting though and I'm in the market for a replacement.

When I (Krugos) used to draw my own comics, I penciled a page, then used a marker to make the line art darker, and then inked on a better quality paper using a lamp to see the pencil art behind. Then I would usually color digitally, though a few comics I colored using watercolors.

As for Eli Navarro (the artist I share this account with), he pencils traditionally but sometimes not the way the final page will look like; he may do panels in different pieces of paper and then resize and crop digitally to make the final page. When the pencil work is done, he inks digitally and, if he's doing the colors then he does that also on the PC..

It used to be on a crumbled paperbag with pencil and then traced over in photoshop. Now its on a clean butcher paper that I go over in photoshop to ink and "color" I say color because its in shades of brown.

I've worked with charcoal, graphite, and other materials. I lose interest on one medium and so I tend to switch for each series. I used to love photoshop, the tablet gives a strain on my hand though.

I do all of my comic (Aetherwing) in Photoshop CS5 with an Intuos 5! I also do the majority of my regular drawings that way. One time I did work out a bunch of character designs for the comic on napkins on lunch break at work though.

I normally draw my comics in a sketchy, artsy but serious style.

i drew A Legend (of some sort) in blue pencil on 11x17 paper and inked it with a pentel brush pen. I then colored it in Photoshop 6 (not CS6, just 6, yes I am old) with a Wacom Cintiq.

My next comic will probably be entirely done in Manga Studio 5 as it is cheap and amazing.

I think it does take time to master any device... I heard even a Cintiq!I wish I could do it all traditional... Nothing more organic than a pencil!But I got work to do and I need a portable device to draw when I have time on my breaks...

You are so right about the Cintiq! I thought it is the best you can get if you want to be professional, but the moment I got one - I was totally disappointed! I've gotten used to intuous 5 and the new one suddenly limited me with only a few shortcut buttons on the screen and the keyboard ?... where do I put the keyboard now so that I can keep using the shortcut buttons?... Yes, it is the nearest thing you can get to a traditional drawing, but it is still digital and one needs to use the tools on the screen. It is such a hustle to reach every time for the tools and they where far easier to reach on the intuous, where the working place is smaller and the hand can make the move with just a short move of the pencil. But I noticed that when I got used to it, at least the lines were much easier to draw, because it is the natural way. So yes, it takes time but it is worth it :}

Im a mix of digital and traditional. The art and sfx is done traditionally but my speech bubbles and text are done in photoshop(with some clean up also).Simon Nero.

For the most part I just used trials for those programs, I mean I really liked using them (or at least flash) but considering I'm poor as dirt I couldn't really keep them.
So I decided to actually buy a program so I could make my comics consistently. And based on the popular opinion of SAI I figured that was my best option. And I think its worked really well...
(Ironically I'm still inept when it comes to actual painting with it though)

You see, what i do is i take the black color stick and, firmly grasping it in my hand, drag the pointy part on some sort of surface, preferably paper. I then repeat the process until i have made a shape of some sort. Afterwards, i use multicolored black color sticks to drag them inside the shapes. And the the drawing is done. HUZZAH

Thanks for sharing your insight on the Cintiq. What I really look forward to is the pressure sensitive stylus. I think that would really change how I work. It would give more depth and style to my stuff.
Maybe with an Ipad pro... Who knows?!?

I use a wacom tablet and bamboo stylus along with Manga Studio EX 4. I use a little bit of Photoshop to format my comic pages.

For my comic, Outcast Kingdom I mostly pencil and ink on physical paper, then scan it to my computer for editing, etc.
The first twelve episodes I colored digitally-- aside from one I colored physically.
Episodes thirteen and on have been colored digitally by a friend of mine, and she's been doing exceptionally well so far, if I do say so myself (much better than I did).

I recently bought a tablet and I'm learning how to draw on it, so I may start doing the line art digitally one of these days.
