I almost made a nuclear mistake guys. My comic had an image where you see a character's legs for the first time...and they are supposed to have a prosthetic. I LITERALLY almost had her first appearance be with a real leg. D; That would have been such a bummer!
Have you ever done that?
I don't know about the "wrong version" of a comic, but I've definitely had times where I noticed errors immediately after uploading, lol. Usually something minor like a typo, or I forgot to draw a background detail.
Though I've also had times where I mix up my thumbnail image and my comic image... that's always awkward.
Oh ya.. Done this so many times. And then you just can’t get the right up fast enough
When I launched, I made a mistake slicing my first episode and accidentally cut a row of panels out entirely. Thankfully the ones it happened with weren't essential to understand the context of anything so I doubt anyone noticed - it wasn't til about a month later that I caught it myself and finally fixed it haha.
One time i missed an entire page LMAO when i realized i just apologized and reposted the correct one. it happens, oh well. i just try not to make mistakes lol but most mistakes i make is typos.
Thankfully, Tapas is the second place where I host comics. I notice errors after uploading on my main site, as well as trim the episode title down (because Tapas sadly has a stricter title length limit), but it's very rare that I upload the wrong version of the comic. On top of that, I also save every generational loss as a separate image, in case I want to look back and wonder why I have them saved.
AHHH I have a really bad goof.
I did a featured comic last year for webtoon and in the pitch I had sent them the original page format along with the sliced version for webtoon and since their team was posting it for me they ended up posting the first batch of posts in the page format and it was BAD. The webtoons audience HATED IT. And since it was featured everybody got the email about it before we could fix it.
They did end up fixing it within a couple days but it really threw off the ratings for the first few weeks.
I got PTSD from reading the title...
Oh nooo, that's a rough one! That's so stressful, haha.
Not anything major but
I post my comics in two languages on different platforms and once uploaded wrong version to one of the platforms. My readers asked if that page was really supposed to be in English and I decided to troll and answered "sure". Guess my reply was so confident so they trusted me and were like "Oh, OK..." Of course I apologized and changed the version as soon as I could
I have missed a page or uploaded versions of pages without text, which I had previously hidden to retouch something on a panel.
On my character's first introduction, I used the wrong name. And didn't notice until many pages later. Now no one knows what her name is fuck
I don't think I've ever uploaded the wrong version of an episode, but I had two instances that are similar:
I missed an entire panel. Didn't realize I missed something until a few hours after releasing the episode.
The panels were in the wrong order and I had to rearrange them.
Well, i missed some panels, and upluaded something with awful typo size and and awful pacing
I create and name my comic panels individually and a couple of times I forgot to upload one of the panels. Usually there was a subtle transition but I do need a cleaner system.
I almost had this, i had made a page and 2 days later, when i was going to post it.
i noticed a big typo a hour before the posting.
the sigh of releave oh man!
i proof read the pages like 5 times before saying its finished.so i was suprised.
I literally just did the same thing again and had to go back and edit panels to have my character wearing a symbol in his hat that holds literal plot relevance.
That feel, i feel. i feel ya.
Like most people: missed background detail, typos. Nothing too drastic, though I do feel like I've missed an entire page in an update before.
