How did you feel when you completed your first chapter?

I am very excited to have it under my belt and I can't wait to see how much I improve over the next year. It has been a great learning experience so far. I think I am going to put together a nice pdf with a cool cover and get a few copies printed for myself. I am not going to take a hiatus though, and will be moving right into the rest of the story.

Wow. That was such an amazing feeling! Right after the first chapter finished, I went right into working on chapter 2. Now chapter 2 is only one page away from being done and I can honestly say that it's that awesome feeling all over again! This time though I'm giving a small one page filler between chapters that gives a little behind the scenes info, but that could enhance the comic experience for my readers. But it won't hinder them if they choose not to read it. After that I move right into chapter 3!

I was super excited when i finished the first issue of Los Esmeraldas that i went right to printing it! Then went right on into issue two. And every page i get closer to finishing the more hyped i get. I dont know how i'll react when i finish a chapter ! Proboly the same lol.

Congrats! It's such a great feeling, isn't it? Finishing that first chapter can be a daunting task when you're just getting started.

When I finished the first chapter of my comic, it didn't sink in initially D: I spent 1-2 months doing all 34 pages of the chapter, rather than publishing pages as I finished them. So I'd do all the layouts, then all the pencils, inks, tones, etc in stages. So when it came time to put the finishing touches on everything and send it to be printed, it was hard to know when to stop tweaking things.

Now I'm drawing chapter 2 weekly instead of all in advance (cause boy am I good at eating up my buffer :u) so it'll probably feel more complete once I wrap up on the chapter.

Congratz on getting through the first chapter of the comic. I happened to be subscribed to your comic and I felt a multitude of different feelings as it drew towards the end, mostly sorrow.

When I finished my very first chapter, I felt excited! Mainly for what was to come in the next chapter and beyond.

First off, congrats!! That's SUCH a big deal! There are so many comics that don't make it to their first chapter so it's really a big accomplishment to have stay dedicated that long and definitely a milestone worth celebrating! In my opinion, the first chapter is probably one of the most important milestones in a comic. If you can make it to the end of chapter one, you're probably ready for the long haul!

As for how I felt about my own comic reaching it's first chapter...well, like everyone else is saying, excited and accomplished. Granted this was the second time I've done a first chapter for my comic, but I think I felt even better this time. It's the first step in a very long journey I've started myself on but I'm excited to be on it. :'D

Me? I'm happy when I make it past the 1st chapter, and I feel happier when I can make it bast the first volume. Although I admit I get very tired and worn out and normally just become comatose, I think mostly because working 2 jobs and trying to draw between kills me. and being that I only really get to update ever two weeks which doesn't help my comic get seen. it's a really good feeling when I finally make it to the end of a chapter.

It is a wonderful thing that you made it past the first chapter, like Riko said above lots of people stop never making it past the first chapter. I admit it makes me sad, because I've had a lot of comics on my favorites on other sites that just stop without word or never even make it to the end of chapter 1. so CONGRATULATIONS! I wish you the best of times with the rest of the chapters!

Congrats on finishing the first chapter! When I finished chapter 1, it didn't feel special because a lot of my comics before reached chapter 1 but didn't go alot further after that. So when my current comic reached the end of chapter 1, the feeling was awesome... But it was immediately followed by "chapter one down! 23 more chapters to go." XD

It felt pretty great to finish my first chapter!

Completing things in general feels like reaching the top of a mountain and knowing that hey, you've made it! Go you! I remember the feeling of getting the print-copy of my first completed comic in my hands - a 7-chapter, 168-page black and white graphic novel - and I swear it smelled of printer's ink and triumph.

Congratulations! I remember feeling very happy and fulfilled when I finished, though not entirely satisfied with the result lol. Which eventually led me to redraw it again after a few months x_x But once I fix most of the issues in the redraw, that was when I truly felt relieved and happiest!

I felt very released. Not in a burden dragging kinda way, like, "I" was released. Like someone took all the clothes I had and I got transported to a realm where I could care any less. Suddenly, all my worries and problems for that moment, the moment I rested my pen down on that final page for the very first chapter, anything else did not matter. I think liberating is the proper word, but I'm saying Released, it's closer to what I felt.

And then, after that, I dunno, I just went on, just wanting to feel that evry chapter.

Considering that all my chapters are to be 50 - 60 pages, I felt quite accomplished to have finally finished one of them.

But now since I have a dozen more to get through... that feeling was short lived.

I can't imagine how I would feel I did the whole thing at once. Probably wouldn't release it because I would keep redrawing pages. I hope you are enjoying the weekly schedule, it can be a challenge keeping up. Wish you much success.

Thanks! To be honest I wish I had taken the opportunity to do a lot more pages of my current chapter in advance. The nice thing about having all of chapter 1 complete before posting it online was that it allowed for a steady update schedule for a whole 34 weeks.
