I use the early morning to work out all creative aspects like layout, poses, panelling, etc. and at night I do more mechanical tasks such as colouring and editing. I like listening to podcasts while I work.
Here is my latest page from Chapter 9 of Dumah. (Hyping the battle for the next chapter XD) [image]
Cool, Thanks! I'll try that.
I see. Thanks for the advice! I will try rotating between genres to see which works.
When I listed my webcomic: Dumah in the 'Action' genre, I felt that it was the right category for the series as there was going to be a fair number of action sequences throughout. But now reading it again from the beginning I feel that these action set pieces are few and far between the supernatu…
I had started my first webcomic back when I was 21. But after reading more and more webcomics, I realised that I wasn't satisfied with format I was using to make the webcomic. After a break, I started a new series last year. Here is what I'm currently working on:
I'm listening to Beast in Black. They are a fairly new power metal band. They have a few tracks inspired from anime and manga: Berserker from Berserk Cry out for a hero from Fist of the North Star
I have quite a few inspirations for my story: I have always loved the art of Kazuki Takahashi (Yu-Gi-Oh!), Hiroyuki Takei (Shaman King) and Akira Akatsuki (Medaka Box). After reading/watching their respective works I wanted to take the card-game anime formula (and the similar formula for any simil…
Thanks this helps a lot! I have a question though: I have seen quite a few people upload once every two weeks. If I upload one mega update every two weeks, will that help the algorithm?
Hope you all enjoy the series! Dumah | Chapter 1 Part 1 [image]
Here it is! Quite a cliff hanger, right?

Considering that all my chapters are to be 50 - 60 pages, I felt quite accomplished to have finally finished one of them. But now since I have a dozen more to get through... that feeling was short lived.
Currently I am at 2. Slowly I am moving towards 3. I am not sure if I will make it to 4, but if that eventually happens, it would be great! Working hard to achieve that goal!
Hi! Even though I have posted in the forums before, this is the first topic I have made. I have just finished the first chapter of my series: From One I wanted some feedback as to what you all thought of the pacing, story, art, etc. Thanks!
Although the Deus ex machina may be seen as contrived or implausible, it really depends on how well the author conveys the elements of a story including Plot Armor, Plot devices or other such conveniences. After all, a story progresses as the author wishes (at least in the initial stages) and conven…
The chart is very interesting, but I wonder if the stats would be different on sites for comics or stories, because the content would not be as quick to go through, as compared to Twitter, Facebook, etc. (I didn't even notice that the timezone hadn't been given =P Thanks @AnnaLandin )
"For me it's just sharing my story with the world and the slim chance of garnering a fanbase." Yeah, it's similar for me, but I also hope to improve the speed and technique of my art in this process. Every time I draw a new pose or a scene, that I hadn't drawn before I feel gratified that I made s…

Here's my series: From One
My Series From One: [image] The banner is in Greyscale. The colours of the text would be same as the ones seen on the cover page. And the cover page: [image]
I use Manga Studio 5. I started off traditionally, but switched to digital, as I found it much faster to complete the pages.
I have read a lot of one-shot manga, and from what I have seen if the one-shot does well (get's a lot of positive feedback), the artist continues the story and makes it into a series. Generally, a one-shot, by the end of it, should answer all questions it has laid down from the start of the chapter. …
First, I imagine how the scene will look in the panel and choose a view (Bird's eye, worm view, etc.). Next I scribble in basic details, to get a good idea how the character/s will look in the scene. After that, I select a new layer and outline the character, adding details, and even adjusting the s…
Depends on the scene I am drawing, but its usually power metal or techno music I like listening to. Mostly Nightcore tracks
At the moment, I think I am a better writer. I am still improving my art. However, I enjoy telling stories in either medium.
