I always wondered how does Tapastic decide what comics to shortlist into the "Trending" category on the front page. Sometimes I make it to the first page, but in less than a day, I will have disappeared from the entire Trending list.

It's algorithm based, AFAIK, and uses the data of how many people have liked your episode(s), how many new people have subscribed, how many people have commented, etc., within a certain timeframe. The higher those numbers are, the longer you stay on the front page.

No idea, sorry! >.< I don't keep good enough track of my own comic to know when it appears where - all I know is that I've been front-page'd in Popular a few times (and quickly sank back down), and that I ended up in Trending during the Winter Fest-event, but what exactly the difference is I'm not sure.

Yeah, me too, I've noticed sometimes that I was in trending before and/or after being in popular so I thought maybe it was the "kind of popular but not so much yet section" xD but I don't get the logic...

The impression i have is that it could be the time frame, like trending is the "right now", and popular is some time with good exposition. But really don't know for sure.

"Trending" is based on how many subs, likes, and views a new or existing page of your comic gets. The more ya got, the longer you'll stay on the trending pages.

"Popular" works on the same guidelines. One sure fire way to get here is to make the "Daily Snack".

Hi Savage. Welcome to Tapastic. I'm Toad-Sta-Ovn, Creator of Life of an Aspie5. Anyway, to answer your question, the daily snack is 5 episodes from 5 different comics hand selected by the staff themselves. If you have the Tapastic app, you'll be notified in the early afternoon every day (it may differ a bit depending on your time zone). Also, you'll know if your comic is featured on the Daily Snack because I hear the staff will notify you hours before they put your comic on their daily line up. Lastly, The DS is a GREAT way to quickly gain subs if you are lucky enough to be featured. Again, welcome to Tapastic. Hope you enjoy your time here.

WOOOOW really thats so nice of them. I started my comic No Face Man6 today, i guess i have a long way until i even get 5 episodes out T_T Any ways, thanks a lot for answering me sunny

There are not that many gallows still in work here in the U.S so its pretty hard to come by mandrake. We usually supplement with sun bleached cattle skulls, but that can have the side effect of omnipresent whispers.

Yeah that's what confused me--because I thought Popular's criteria for getting featured was what @AnnaLandin was describing. The Trending section works in mysterious ways
