Hey guys, I'm the creator of the comic When on High21
I'm also a student, going to be a Junior at Rutgers University in New Jersey
Just wondering, how many other creators here are also students? With August soon coming to an end, I assume we will all be going back to school soon.
I started my comic near the beginning of June, so I have no idea what it is like to try to keep a regular uploading schedule while also attending school.
I'd like to hear from fellow creators, especially if you guys are also students or started uploading your comics while you were still attending school.
In the end, nice to meet you all!

(PS: Feel free to check out my comic and share your own, in the end we are all a community xD)

My guess is probably quite a bit are still students. I'll return to be a student in 2016(saving up the $) I don't have a current series though.

Is your comic hand drawn for the most part?

P.S. Nice to meet you too!

Eheh yea, I don't have a tablet, so I draw it in pencil and then ink it in pen and scan it
I also don't have much money... so I can't really buy things, though I would definitely like to try using more "professional" pens like G-pens

Well if you plan on buying g-pens i suggest buying from http://www.jetpens.com/6 G-Pens take a while to get used to using if you never used a dip pen before. I shake to much to make good clean lines.

I'm still a student. And I started my comic just a month before school starts ( i regret that decision ) anyways I'd like to juggle between making episodes and doing schoolwork if possible. I guess the only thing in my way is procrastination, (I hope it is the only thing)
Anyways I draw mine traditionally too and it is so time consuming so I think since I update weekly ill just make a schedule , kinda like Sunday being the "comic day". smiley
For anyone who's interested this is mine: http://m.tapastic.com/series/Nico-Must-Hate-The-World3 smile

im a third year illustration major
classes started this week, but im not worried about being able to keep up my comic schedule because....there are free studio spaces in the art department you can apply for, and i got one this year :} ive already worked up there for a few 3-5 hour chunks of time and i actually get stuff done without being distracted 9o9 wow

Mm, I see
Unfortunately I'm not an art major, so I doubt I'll be able to use facilities like that
What's your comic? I'd love to see!

I'm a student for about the next 2-3 weeks, and then I'm graduating college, with a diploma in 2D Animation and Digital Art.

I'm so fucking ready to be done.

Nice! I went to school for animation too. I love 2D Animation.

I graduated in 07 with a bachelor's degree, so I'm not really a student anymore, but I had to say yay! to 2D Animation major. XD

Ermagerd, you all have so many more subscribers than me T.T
When did you all start your comics?

I'm not really a student (I finished my major in Human Sciences loooong ago), but while I'm unemployed, I'm studiying Catalan (I'm Living in Catalonia, but I'm Andalusian, so...) and I hope I can soon enrol myself in Escola Joso Sabadell, a really important comic school here in Spain.
Do I count as a student? =D

Well I got my bachelor's in 2011 but I would like to go back to school, this time for art. But lmao with what money, self?

There's a large amount of college students here :o Well I'll just wander on here as a high school student. I'm a Senior though, so I'm almost there.

I started my comic, Destiny Awaits2 like... last year. Then I went on a mini hiatus, and then I had to switch websites. Ever since I ruined my buffer, I haven't been doing my regular updates. So, I've been doing homework and drawing until like Midnight o3o But anyways, nice to meet you too.

Oh cool. I almost went to Rutgers myself, but decided on staying in New York.

For me, I always end up going on hiatus in the middle of chapters depending on how the school year is. But in between classes or whenever I have spare time, if I'm unable to work on some pages I normally try planning for future pages. Sketching ideas and drawing out storyboards.

So even if u don't have time to actually work on your comic, you can still plan things out making future processes easier.

Least...that's what I've been doing recently.

Oh and from the creator of Identity2, it is very nice to meet you.

Ahaha, that would have been pretty cool, meeting another creator at my own school xD
I've been able to juggle my part time summer job and making my comic, but I'm afraid I'll be even busier once classes start again.

I started a comic book club at our university in Canada and we made our own full 24 page comic book last year as a group. It is possible to balance both you just have to be committed and plan your time wisely. If that's what you enjoy doing then keep doing it! Who knows maybe you can find other students at your school who want to collaborate!
Good luck with your comics and you can read the beginning of ours on tapastic and we will upload the rest soon. http://tapastic.com/episode/876871

Yooo I'm a student at Royal Holloway University of London
I did some extreme comic things not on tapastic last year which was my second year at uni. I like to draw in big chunks so I wait to draw certain days during the week since I know I have a few hours to just burn through everything without needing to get ready to go to class or work or meet up for studying.

Best of luck! It does kill you a little since you have less spare time to do other things, but I still made time to be social unless I would've gone crazy lol

Eheh I took a class in senior year of high school called "Art and Lit of the Graphic Novel" and the final grade was based on a final project where you write and draw your first chapter for a graphic novel. I still have the pages for that, but the ideas for my story kept changing and growing but I never really did anything with it until my boss at the company I work at over the summer encouraged me to buy manga-making software and try actually making it, so my series has kind of been three years in the making xD
