How much do you earn from your webtoons/novels?

That is a question that I really wondered but I couldn't find its answer anywhere, nobody is sharing that information maybe it is because it is too personal, but I really can't help myself not wondering it. so can you please ask for it if it is not too personal?

For me, I used to publish a story on a platform named Wattpad and earned $5 per episode or something near to that.
Another than that I didn't create anything so I didn't have any earnings. was right now I'm working on three difference webtoon projects and I'm excited about how much I can earn. (of course I'm not only excited for the money that I will earn, but I am also excited for it too with the other things like the excitement of creating your own webtoon)

Are you asking a full time pro creator or a hoppyist doing it for fun?

The only ernings I got with Blue Life and The Last BL Comic was mostly doing inksgiving. And that was something like 30$ a year.

But are you asking me as a pro writer working for a company I take the price of 250$ each episode

For tapas, I have about 475 subs and 3.7k views total. I have earned $0.02 total in ad revenue. Don't be too excited to earn money, because there are way better ways to get paid doing other things.

Webtoon is having a creator ad revenue program but you need 1k subs and 40,000 views minimum, which took me almost half a year. Plus it's limited time (it ends in august or July I think), so depending on how good your work is and how fast you can grow your audience, you might be able to get a $100 if you're really lucky.

Ad revenue is very hard to earn any money from. It's like a tip jar that grows at the rate of $0.01 per year depending on your luck. :joy:

Ink support is the way to go on Tapas for non-Premium creators! If you build up a strong community of supporters/friends, you can help to support each other with Ink. I unlocked ink support in Nov 2019 and accumulated slightly more than $150 so far (granted, the first few months or more didn't have much support). Roughly speaking, I get $4-5 per month on average. Of course, it helps if you have a regular posting schedule and interact with your readers/supporters.

for tapas, I have about 2.4k subs and 43.5 k views and I have only earned 0.71$ in total in ad revenue alone in the past six months. --- so like most people say, don't get excited too much or don't expect too much on ad revenue. On Support, I have earned 4.49$ (before fees) --- so it's not so much either

On another platform however (I'm just keeping the name a secret to avoid breaking the guidelines when I mentioned it just in case but if it wasn't I'll just edit this) , I have 12k subs and around 15k views during the first month (I started mirroring my work there around march this year) and earned 5.55$ on the ad revenue alone (minus the 3rd party fees) take note: it's only for one month -- so you can see that the difference is larger. --- which means that my series is performing much better on that platform.
They also have monthly incentives depending on how much US page views you have on a month, if you hit 40k page views, you can get 100$ but I haven't hit that yet (I'm only halfway during my first month with them) so I can't tell much about that either.
If your work was lucky enough to be noticed by an editor, they will offer you the option to publish paid chapters or something like an early access. About that, currently that platform has offered me to publish paid chapters with them just now, and is currently negotiating -- so I don't have any idea yet on how much can you earn from that either.
I haven't launched my patreon yet because I have no content to put in there, and because my story is mature, the nsfw chapters will be published there. I also think it's best to launch it when you already have a stable reader base already or you can also start on it just in case you have something to offer that cannot be published on the platform like nsfw chapters or simply because want to have it just in case.--- but, according to some folks I know who has been publishing their comic for a long time, majority of their earnings from their comic come from there.
In the end it will still depend on how good your series will perform, or how would you like your series to perform, and each platforms usually have a specific type audiences' preferences that dominates the said platforms as well. Each platforms has their own strengths as well like here in tapas for example, ink support is usually the best way to go if you want to earn without being premium. with those mentioned, you might want to consider those factors if you're really planning to make money out of your works. ^^

I get about 60K-80K views per month. This gives me like 4 to 5 bucks per month.

The only rwalistic way way of making money is by doing commissions and/or porn on Subscribestar and Pixiv FANBOX.

Ok, so I've been posting here for almost 3 years, I've got around 4.7K subscribers across 3 series with around 80K views per month (on tapas, I also post on bunch of other websites but my stats are way lower there and I'm not getting any ad revenue from those ;p)
My total revenue (ads+support) is 91.99$ (it's mostly 2-3$ from ads and occasionally someone feeling very generous)
I've also got Patreon on which I post uncensored version of one of my webcomics (which seem to be main reason for people to support me there) and I've made around 750$ from it.
I'm also posting them on itch.io, where I'm mostly using pay-what-you-want model and have made 64$ there
So... yeah, drawing porn and putting it behind the paywall has been working best for me ;p (just did a quick conversion and on average I've made off my comics per year less than half what my dayjob pays me monthly 'xD)

Nothing :frowning: I think I suck i art too much to earn anything from my comic :frowning:

Wuuuut? D: That's not true, your art is gorgeous, I was looking at your site just a couple of days ago and I love your style ;__;

That said, yep, earning money with comics is hard ._. so far I made... $10,21 through Ink donations (in part thanks to Inksgiving and in part thanks to a few generous friends  ) and $1,57 through ad revenue on ComicAd (but I also spent almost $9 on ads there, so I count it as money I got back from my investment rather than actual earnings). I don't have a Ko-Fi and my Patreon is a deserted land XD

Given that I have under 200 subscribers and roughly 21k total views across all platforms (Tapas, Webtoon, ComicFury, Wordpress), I'd say that I'm doing pretty good! ...But still, definitely NOT enough to pay the bills or put food on the table, lol.

I earn about $20 a month from my Patreon, which is nice, and quite flattering. Nothing via ad revenue, it takes ages to build up on Tapas, and I don't qualify on WEBTOON yet.

2 years later

I spent like £25 on 90+ chapters overall, how much of the £25 will go to the author?
