How much do you enjoy editing and revising?

If it wasn't for my extreme lack of self-value driving me to seek external validation in what I create, I'd probably spend all of my time revising my stories rather than posting them. There's something really fulfilling in taking something I've put my heart and soul into, and making it even better, refining what I love about it, adding in new ideas that can flesh it out even further.

I'm already considering new revisions. I have a problem. Help

When I do revising, I often learn things that come in handy in my future work. I used to think it was exhausting, but after coming to this realization I too now have a problem.

Though I get anxious after I find myself doing a lot of edits; it makes me wonder how many readers I could've kept interested if I had just done things perfectly the first time.

I've really come to enjoy revisions. Usually, if I can, I like to wait a month or more to go back to scenes I've written. It really gives a nice perspective and can be rewarding when you're impressed by your own writing. It's definitely pretty fun.

Editing is fun and can be really helpful for learning new tricks, but I much prefer editing someone else's work than editing my own.

I use to constantly want to redraw my first few comics, but nobody seems to care that the character changes a bit over time. But I had to redraw my first and second ones because they were using a different character design.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I think I like it, but not when it's to the point that the story loses its freshness.

I love it. I have a problem. Seriously, help, lol. I've learned to let my work breathe (edit it before posting and then leave it alone for a little while) otherwise I would edit it all day every day.

I mean it gives me an excuse to read my work as well as add any gags or jokes that I wanted to add initially but never knew how to word it.

Sometimes I struggle with just wanting to release the page and move onto the next pages but editing is usually for the better

I'm probably one of the few who would say this but: not at all. I do not like doing editing, haha. I much prefer writing new points rather than fixing old ones because, I don't know, I feel like those new ideas come and slip by really easily for me. But I know it's a necessary step in making a good story so I begrudgingly do it.

Unless I really need the illusion of control, I sort of despise editing I’m okay on the technical side of things - punctuation, spelling, and grammar, but when it comes to rewriting sentences or reformulating a paragraph... it’s frustrating.

I much prefer editing someone else's work than editing my own.

I feel like I’m way better at editing other people’s work than my own. I’m just too close to my own story to be able to edit effectively and I think that’s part of why I don’t like doing it.

I am constantly editing or adding to my comic. It's a long term project though and I want it to be my absolute best.

Luckily I can just sneak in an extra panel or page here and there on each episode, and I can notify my subscribers.

They aren't really plot changers, but things to enrich the story and flesh out the bones a bit more I guess.

Editing your own work can be an absolute pain in the whatsit, but it's necessary. I find it a bit of a learning experience too, going over what I've done and working out how to make it fit or flow right, and sometimes it's nice to read something I wrote and actually think it's good

i like editing my story! i tend to go back every now and again to re-read and make notes on what i would like to improve. once or twice i’ve made some dialogue changes and i simply notified my readers—lots of folks even went back to re-read the older pages!

i recently went back to spell check all my pages and that was significantly less fun

I don’t like revising and editing because I am always eager to write something new instead. Bu, I do my time on it. I know it’s a necessary evil.

Editing can be daunting and I sometimes end up procrastinating on it for a while. Like when I realize that I want to re-write half of a chapter x.x

BUT there is something very satisfying about taking my work and making it even better, and finally finding a good way to write a particular scene that's been stumping me. It's like solving a puzzle.

Editing art is a bit more annoying, especially if I've got the .png's saved and everything.

I only do editing or revising when I have a buffer. Which...right now, I don't ( ಥ‿ಥ)--b

Even then though it's usually only on dialogue or storytelling. I may add new panels or tweak an old one here ore there. But otherwise what you see is what you get.

Edit: forgot to mention how I feel about it. I don't mind it. It's kind of nice knowing that I can catch mistakes before the comic goes out.

Editing is a necessary evil. It’s frustrating, it’s daunting, it’s oppressing, it makes me feel very bad about myself, it takes valuable time away, time I could use exploring new ideas... but not doing it would feel like a disrespect to readers...
