So a little more than a week ago I was in a pinch and I have decided to put Square One (one of my future projects) on the shelf for now. I wanted to publically release it in 2023 but I had a serious time shortage to work on it with my current comic as well. That and I felt it isn't ready yet.

I'm sorry to everyone who was looking forward to it releasing. Don't worry, I'm not scrapping it but I won't be seriously working on it for a while.

Maybe try outlining or doing small stuff for it on the side? It's always hard to decide to scrap a project, and the fear is always that you are making the decision out of fear and not a genuine good call. But that's a line you just have to toe I guess.

I do sometimes do small things for it yeah. But I mainly decided to stop working on it to make it ready for publishing online. Mainly because I am also doing that with my current webcomic, doing two at once is not possible for me at this moment, given I have a fulltime job during the week.

Remember: It's art, not the mafia. You can leave it behind or come back at your leisure.

I do understand the feelings of frustrated ambition and disappointment of having to "get a real job" but as long as you're alive you will always have an option to make art.

Hmmm that's not really it, I like my job and there isn't really any disappointment in that. It's moreso that I want too much at once haha
