If Disney offered to buy your IP today, would you accept? (+poll)

In a heartbeat, not only Disney, hulu, netflix anything Ideas aren't what's lacking so I don't see why not, I just want to create.
My work isn't family friendly or may not be PC at all so it would never work with Disney unless they add a couple more digits

I am against monopolies--and we're reaching a monopoly saturation point possibly worse than the Gilded Age. I'm very uncomfortable with how powerful Disney's company is.

And I'm wishing another animation studio, like with Don Bluth in the 80s, would once again surface and challenge the status quo of Disney. Competition is important, and allowing one company to buy up everything is dangerous.

Whatever money Disney (or any company) would give you gets spent, and you're back at square one. Ownership means more to me than some drop in the bucket Disney would offer (and then proceed to make whatever they would and you're out of the loop.)

I'll stay poor, so long as I'm the master of my own ideas and creations.

I'm reminded of FlashGitz's latest animation about Disney attempting to purchase Dragon Ball Z and the part with the owners rushing over and tearing up the contract while screaming "YOU RUINED STAR WARS!"

My stories and characters are something I take pride in, they are like children to me and I would hate to see a cooperation that no longer cares about making good content and focuses on crappy CGI remakes get ownership of it.

Call me a pessimist, but this "disney owns everything" is only going to end once some enviable disaster brought on by the obvious issue of having one company having such a titanic monopoly. Kinda like what happened to hana barbera who at one point owned most of television animation and gradually just made scooby do and Flintstones rip offs until they lost everything.

I used to IMAGINE pitching my character to Disney back in 2014 [as a Zoog]. I was even fond of Disney back when I was in preschool/kindergarten. But just by looking at Hollywood's choices, I'm deciding not to pitch anything to Hollywood (including Disney) anytime soon. It's even annoying when Disney wants to be number 1 all time and not give other studios a chance.

I could see that. It would be very hard for a company to become an actual competitor, especially if they start dropping popular shows/films the same time as competitor films and heavily advertising it.

It depresses me to say yes because I LOVE my universe and wouldn't want Disney to fuck it up. I'm a Disnerd for sure, but you know they would.

That being said, I'm poor as shit and need to pay off my student loans. I love my universe, I love my comic, I love my sillies, but I'm probably never going to be at a point where it will pay the bills the way a paycheck from Disney would.

And that's depressing as hell.

My IP has already been released under a Creative Commons license. Both before and after the sale, both parties would be free to use the material. The only payment anyone is required to make is givong credit to the creator, not the IP owner, so that wouldn't change either. In this scenario, a company would be offering me money for absolutely nothing.

I'm not a "Disnerd"(never been a Disney fan, but have watched some of their stuff) but I love Star Wars and I love Marvel Comics...not that any of those influences my decision, but if they offered me a buttload of money and lifetime royalties/acknowledgment that I created the content, then sure I'd sell it.
