I'm Panicking Right Now (In Need of Help of My Art Problem)

so recently i've been told a lot by those who have read my comics and some like my art style one way and others want it another way so i drew these references up as quick as possible to give those an idea of what i mean:

anyways, i really need help on this alone so i can draw peacefully without worrying what i should do to keep my viewers reading. i don't want to draw something that people will hate. it'll just make me stop drawing completely because everyone's standards is hurting my head at this point.

please tell me your honest opinions on each style. it will help me a lot right now.

p.s: if i stop replying to comments, it would be because i had to leave from the library computer that im using to type this.

In my opinion it depends on the story you are telling a lot. The first style would work well in a comedy or action based stories. The second style I see more in a serious or horror stories. The third one I see more for slice of life and even romance like stories.

I think the 3rd style has the most clarity, but like @Daknight said, a lot depends on what kind of story you're going for. I think that the third one would also fit a shounen-style story, especially if you make the face a bit less feminine-looking(that's assuming you're going for a male protagonist).

I recall seeing one of the posts recently where you showed 3 different comics that you've started. imo Style B (which seems to kinda match up with the 2 older comics?) is the easiest to look at and read. Styles A & C look more like your newer comic (Lumiere? Or similar?) which I thought was really hard to make out at times, the way you outline thick lines but then leave them empty (for example, around the eyes, but also elsewhere).

Especially if you're going for a black and white or grayscale style, I think the added contrast that the darks that style B has really add a lot

Shading is a good idea since you're working only in pencil. It will add to clarity and dimension. Of course, over all just do what works best for you. Don't over think it.

I don't see any significant difference of style of any of the examples you showed. The main difference is that B have a shadow and the others are not shaded at all.
Don't worry about the style, the most important thing is to find people that want what you do. What you need to worry when doing comics (at least in my experience) is, first have at least a decent story. Second to have a confident look to your work. This means that what you do looks like you intended to look the way it does. Third, good and easy to understand sequential work.

Tbh it seems like you're taking the style thing too seriously if it's really bothering you so much ^^;

The differences between A and C are so small it's not even worth worrying about.
Shading like in B would improve the quality a bit since shading is an important part of drawing in general.

But honestly, I can say with 99.9% confidence that literally no one who likes the comics now will hate them because you chose A, B, or C; and vice versa.

Okay, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this, so if you're sensitive then don't read this.

Draw what you want and tell everyone else to go fuck themselves.

Seriously though, Just experiment and find what you like. Every new chapter is an excuse to push the boat out a little more. Never get too comfortable.

My honest opinion on this: Don't let people decide how you should draw.
Prioritize your own self before others. The readers who stay are the ones true and loyal.

I like style B. More detailed work is aesthetically pleasing to me and I appreciate the time that goes into making that type of art.

Go with which one you like the most. People are fickle beasts, and if you change to please them it might end up eventually disconnecting you with your own work and getting you all burnt out.

And really, you can't please everyone! Some people might be upset whether you change or not for them. If you change for some, others will get mad. Think about it this way- Who will be with your comic for as long as it exists? Yourself! Create the art you want to create, those who complain about arbitrary things will leave and people who like the style you actually wanna draw will stick around and bring their friends.
