So in short, it's best to buy ink off the web. It's worth more for the one tipping and pays more to the author being tipped.

Your web Ink has a greater value for the supported creator then your App ink

Yup. I feel like that should be more explicitly stated.

Not sure if this can help but there's a more diverse look of support inks I got. Notice that there's a 0.08 and 0.04 that was cut the same amount of 0.01.

I have never taken out my balance but as an estimate, I probably have received around 76.000+ inks (I received few hundred support inks before making a support goal so it's around there) the whole time here and the total support on my support page said $64.54, while what I can take out in total after all fee from what it seems on my balance is $49.47

Thinking about it?

If I set a goal of 15000 ink and a All my supporters give me that in App Ink I will lose 30% value contra all my supporter give me Web ink.

And the supporters will not know because they had paid the same $ for the same amount of Ink.

But we can’t tell the difference from Web Ink or App Ink.

Is this fair?
Can we say NO to App ink?

I was the 2 cent person, for the record. Two days ago a reader gifted me exactly 25 ink (first support I've received, I'm pretty new here). On my support page, my balance is now listed as $0.02.

I can't comment on that reader's app store, taxes, etc.

Really? I've seen the web inks shop, the android and iOS separately and they seems to have a same prices. (the one on ISO is on my country balance but they're more or less have the same exchange rate value).

True.
But if the price of a beer is 10 money and you expecting $ but I can choose to pay in danish KR.

You got your 10 Money. But not the value you need to rebuy new beer to sell

Same price for the buyer.
But the value for the receiver is not the same

Please @michaelson I’m turning myself into a rant against App Ink.
I wish not to be against my beloved Tapas.
Is this true? Are we paying the price for where the supporter buys the Ink?

And this is why I only purchase ink using Google Rewards money. Google cab take its cut from the money they've already given me.

And watch ads if you have them available. Ad providers don't want to provide if there's no viewership.

I’m on mobile so I can’t quote. But @joannekwan with the info you’ve given, it backs up my original math.

With 132 Ink at $0.11 before fees (so web or mobile does matter) that works out to ~$0.008.

So either way a big chunk of money is being lost along the way. Fees are inevitable but this seems excessive. If you use a paypal set up or Ko-Fi the fee is something like 3% and that’s it.

My main concern here is: how much is Ink actually worth before fees? Because with this info it loses up to 36% of its value before fees are even being applied.

It seems so.
ONLY take the Web Ink will give you the full value of Ink befor fees

But we can't choose what we get. And the support do not know that they are giving us less value for the same amount of ink they are buying for the same amount of $

But that's the name of the game.

So does that mean if you're working entirely off ad generated ink, then the person you give that ink to will get "more of the ink value" than if someone paid actual money?

Yea I guess so.
But I see this as an investment now.

I invest 30% of my ink value to be able to have the mobile platform and all of the readers there are there.

If I only accepted web user I will loos the app reader.

And the value of ad ink is paid by the ad. And I accept using ad because It pays better.

Okay @michaelson my Rant is over.
It is an investment in my business of making a comic for a wider audience
