I was kinda inspired by the #webcomicchat tonight about confidence and it got me thinking that at my work we've been leaving quotes to each other to try to remain positive despite all the stupid people we see (seriously 90% of the bad part of my job is simply stupid people). At the very least, it makes us smile so I thought it'd be nice to give it a try here. I consider myself more of a reaslist than an optimist so my quotes aren't really uplifting but maybe they'll at least make people laugh or give them something to think about.
So here's the first one:
If you trust in yourself and believe in your dreams and follow your stars... you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.- Terry Pratchett
I always liked Kurt Vonnegut's quote:
"I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is."
I always just remember the last sentence.
Oh boy. Here are my favorites:
"If you want to have more fun at work, just try to blend in!" -Me
Haha, I put quotes on every new chapter of Two Faced, They are relevent to the characters.
My favourite one I've found so far is "fate loves the fearless"
I don't know who said it but mine is: "Nothing worth having ever comes easy"
"Everyone's got a plan till they get punched in the mouth" - Mike Tyson. That man doesn't know how deep he is.
This one this one!
I have a lot of quotes saved on my computer so I just picked the one i saw first.
Is that by Gavin Aung Than?
I really like what David Foster Wallace had to say about the creation process:"The perfectionism is very dangerous. Because of course if your fidelity to perfectionism is too high, you never do anything. Because doing anything results in…it’s actually kind of tragic because you sacrifice how gorgeous and perfect it is in your head for what it really is."
"Don't get afraid, get angry."
Another by Terry Pratchett from his book Hogfather. This is basically my life motto.
This is one from master Andrew Loomis about impatience and perserverance.
"May I add one suggestion? Whatever your motive, try not to be impatient. Impatience has probably been a bigger stumbling block in the way of real ability than anything else. Doing anything well, I'm sure, means hurdling obstacles of one kind or another most of the way to the goal. Skill is the ability to overcome obstacles, the first of which is usually lack of knowledge about the thing we wish to do. It is the same in anything we attempt. Skill is a result of trying again and again, applying our ability and proving your knowledge as we gain it. Let us get used to throwing away the unsuccessful effort and doing the job over. Let us consider obstacles as something to be expected in any endeavor; then they won't seem quite so insurmountable or so defeating." -Andrew LoomisDrawing the Heads and Hands

"I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine." - Bruce Lee
Here is one. We were feeling insecure after finishing the first chapter of our comic and were very mopey about it. Our younger sister bought us a pretty paper weight with a quote on the bottom and incased in glass.
"Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward."
-Soren Kierkegaard
Just came across this one:
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
"If you think nobody cares if you’re alive, try missing a couple of car payments." - Flip Wilson
"To err is human, so.....err." - Gary King
Inspirational! XD
"The strong are those who win without fighting. The weak fight only to display power."- From an awesome manga called Takemitsu Zamurai
Always enjoy this one!
