Your comic is your vision, your idea of hot is maybe not the hot of someone else.
I find the character a bit scary and nerdy looking and not my idea of a good looking person,
but that´s just me

Long ago i made a topic out of curiosity about what makes a character attractive. This goes a bit more on the personality side of things....anyway, hope it helps.

Lol , I won't lie , I DID try to give him yandere vibes but not too scary and definitely not NERDY

I made a quick drawing of changes I would make to make him look better looking,
but that´s just my vision of it, it´s not meant as a critique. Your character also looks
younger than the version I drew. Eyebrows closer to the eyes, more dominant "manly"
features, smiling. Tastes are different.
I messed up the eyes, but it was just a quick drawing

is the dominant and manly features for my one or yours(I don't mean to sound rude or anything).By the way I liked the way you did it so fast{faster than flash}

you don´t sound rude  I think my version looks more like a man.
I´m fast, the downside of it is that I´m not patient

how young does my character look though,I need 25-28 yrs looking character but not TOO realistic

If you would have asked me about the age I would have guessed under 16. Between 25-28 you would have to make him more manly,
but it looks a bit manga style and that´s a style I´m not too familiar with

Why do your threads keep showing up in my notifications?? I haven't even responded to this.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to show us some images of comics characters you think are hot, and then we can help you work out what features create that appeal? :smile_01:

Hi , I am sorry that I worried you , I invited you here cause I only want to ask for advice from you

please don't invite me to any topics, I don't even have a lot to say for such a subjective question like this. if you want advice from people, inviting them to topics that don't directly involve them might not give you the help you need.

as for your original question, I think Yulek gave enough info to help you. looking "hot" is going to depend on how you portray him, and everyone's personal preferences range too.

Lots of people think Tom Cruise is good looking, but I don't. Your character personally doesn't interest me, and looks very average, but maybe he is attractive to someone else.

Try studying at the physical features of drawings/references that you're trying to go for. From your images, it looks like you like sharp, young, boyish features instead of strong, heavy ones. Eyebrows, eye shape, and facial structure are important.

Good looking to the viewers or in canon? If you mean for the viewers obvs beauty is subjective so it depends on your audience. Tbh I think art style supersedes character design but what's equally important imo is character personality and role in the story. The way they're written is what makes them attractive

Regarding good looking in canon Yulek already answered it, you just have to write that the character is revered as handsome by the cast, regardless of how they looks

Just like the handsome squidward episode lol everyone in biki bottom was going crazy over him

If you really, really want to convince your audience that this character is good-looking, then there is something much more effective than trying to make them universally attractive: make everyone else ugly lol.

This is difficult for art styles with same-face syndrome, they all appear generically cute and you can't tell who's supposed to be the hot one unless the author goes tell don't show. But if you draw different faces, you have a similar effect to real life: yeah, beauty is still very relative, but there are beauty standards out there that please the majority of people, and a "good-looking" person is nothing more than someone who fits this standard.
(However, I advice being very careful about what you portray as "ugly" on the other characters since it can have unfortunate implications. That's why I, personally, prefer to do the safe "tell don't show" route instead. I have same-face syndrome anyway.)
You can check some good examples here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CastOfSnowflakes5

This isn't my usual art style but I wanted to try a "pretty Korean style" so here's what styles I incorporated for the Hot Guy Look (tm)

  • half-lidded eyes
  • Lower lashes / thick lashes in general cuz MEN HAVING LASHES MAKES THEM PRETTY
  • Thicker neck = a hint of muscular masculinity
  • Low eyebrows makes a man look smoldering and serious. Make them as thick as you will.
  • Personally I would give him a few loose strands of hair that fell over his face to frame it a bit more.

that is not constructive or relevant to the topic (plus plain rude) .

even in a comic with stickmen, there'd be ways to make one stickmen be perceived as "hot" by the cast.

so skill is very much irrelevant here.

Okay great! I can see what you're aiming for now. I think you have the right proportions here, and you mostly just need to work on your fine pen control, and maybe look at how you're drawing the eyes.

The biggest thing you could do right now is to get some kind of drawing tablet or program that gives you better control over your lines and line thickness. With a quick draw over to change some lines, it's really easy to make this into a very handsome guy because the proportions are pretty good.

Starting with a quick drawover to show the changes I made....

Then I just aligned the eyes a little, fixed the way the neck connects a bit, lowered the eyebrows a touch and the collarbones...

So yeah, overall, I think there's a hot guy here, and all you really need is some better tools and to refine your personal drawing pipeline to make that shine out. :smile_01:
