Quite normal.
I can't count how many projects, from writing to drawing, that I have given up because I lost interest or just didn't have the time or that I just wanted to do other things with my life.
To me, that's just how life is. But don't let it become your habit.
For instance, I have been working on my comic for over a year, and it's fastly approaching its second. I have found passion in what I create, but other times I just want to work on something else for a change. So what do I do? I keep on a schedule and pace out different activities throughout the week. That way when I get back to the thing that might have bored me, I might have more interest in it since there was some distance.
I make at least 2 comic series a week, and write when I have the thoughts of doing so. I do livestreaming on the weekends, and I'm trying to work in some reading as well.
So while I do in fact lose interest in creating sometimes, pushing through and persevering until the project is done can help character development. If I am someday to do this as a job, (with luck and time, maybe.) I'll need to be in this kind of mindset just to get stuff done, even if I'm not all that interested in doing it that day.
But once I get in a zone, I never want to stop!
