Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com194
Hi Guys~! Do you have Ko-fi account? I was making a blog about how to make money at webcomic industry but then I just discover this site.

Ko-fi allows you to receive income from fans of your web content. Create your button and share it anywhere on the web. Anyone who lciks your link can support you with a with a "coffee".

Similar to Patreon but Coffee is a small payment that is roughly equal to the price of a coffee. Coffee is just a friendly metaphor and a nice way giving an receiving support. Payment goes straight to you so it's up to you how you spend it. Let your supporters know how you intend to spend their contributions. If you're saving something, you can even set up a goal.

this sounds cool, but a thought came to me, is there a point to this website taking a cut if technically you can just directly paypal the creator??

Yeah you're right XD but i think this website still in progress since they just implement the upload image status. You can check their blog.

I have one, but no one's donated yet :laughing: I haven't been pushing it very hard though. It's such a nice alternative to Patreon for those who don't want to pledge monthly!

Interesting, it seems much more minimalistic than patreon, just a line or two to give your info. Wonder if it's worth getting into?

I use ko-fi to throw money at artists I like. I used to patron five or so but life changed on me and I couldn't anymore. This system allows me to support when I can.

(Completelly unrelated, but coffees are expensive in the US.. :))
More on topic- nice idea! The thought of being able to support a creator without commiting certainly talks to me.

I recently got my first donation on Ko-Fi and in AUD, it charged me around 50 cents from the 3$ sent to me.

So it's about a 16% cut?

Personally I'm not sure whether it's worth it, but perhaps what you gain from the more inviting user interface (compared to Paypal) makes up for it?

I'm also not sure whether if it is worth it XD but there's nothing to lose to try XD

Hmm, so basically Paypal donations with a Patreon-esque look, eh? It's interesting and I've seen people using this a lot more lately.

I'd be curious to read about people's experiences with this, like if they get more one-shot donations through this than with Paypal for the nice interface, convenience, and apparent ability to leave a message. Even if Ko-Fi takes a bigger cut, it might make it worth it?

I started to use Ko-fi too, although I don't know it worth or not. ^^;
But we'll see...
