Meeting your initial expectations for your comic

So guys, I'm at the end of the road for my comic and after 300 episodes, I'm at the finale!
I came up with my idea for the finale ages ago and wanted it to be really epic and so it's interesting to see how it is now looking and I wonder whether my younger self would approve of what I've drawn.

How about with your comics? Have your exceeded your expectations for your comic or did you aim too high?
For me I probably would do some things a little different (i.e. I aimed too high) but overall I'm quite happy with my work.

I don't do comics, but I write stories. For one of my stories, I don't feel I met or exceeded my expectations. However, I'm currently working on the rewrite, so I'm hoping to improve it. Some of the things that need improvement are the setting, lore, and some of the characters.

For my next story, I'm hoping to do better.

As seeing how I revamped the original concept for my comic to a certain degree, I'm pretty much happy with the story so far. I just need to figure out which direction I want to take the story(long term), and how long do I want to do the series.

But what I've done with my comic? I think it's above and beyond what I ever thought! Er... does it count if I never had much faith in myself so the bar was low??

I have two comics: Penciled and Aband.

For Penciled, I started with pencil sketches but switched to the ironic digital copy-paste style I've kept for a year and a half now, and overall, I think I've exceeded my original expectations.

For Aband, I've just started but it's falling very behind in my expectations because I'm testing an unfamiliar art style that's supposed to look nicer than my Penciled one but somehow looks worse although I've nailed down the aesthetic I want for its backgrounds.

I like to drop expectations completely, I've always felt it made the creation process a lot more stressful. Of course, I have a overall idea of what I'd like it to be. But, I let the creative process surprise me and have fun with it. For my comic, Osca

Hooray for that finish line!!

I guess for my comic, the one that I completed anyway, I ended up liking it more than I thought I would? I enjoyed the story for sure and was confident in my art and such but once it was done it ended up as one of my favorite things I've ever created. It also helped that I have hard copies of it thanks to CreateSpace. Having it to hold and leaf through just sends it to the next level.

I don't really have strong expectations for a comic, but I do have strong expectations for myself.
The difference is that I don't expect my comic to be a masterpiece, but I do expect myself to do the best I can possible do at that time. Being proud of what I created is a bonus for me, but usually I do start disliking what I created before after I advanced to another level XD

As is well documented around these parts, I was the one who flew too close to the sun with my comic Life of an Aspie and I'm still paying for it even now, but if you told me a year and a half ago that I would have genuine subscribers let alone subs who genuinely thought my little shojo-esque comic about Asperger's Syndrome told from a female perspective (Male Aspie irl) was "a fantastic comic that's underrated" or that it helped them better understand an autistic family member, I would've highly doubted you. So in a way, me being grounded works to my favor. A small audience means I have to keep the writing quality up because of the unique premise I've got and because I'm small, I don't have to listen to a hundred little twerps cry "THIS DUSENT BEELONN GON (comic site here)" whenever there's "objectionable" content like the scene late in Chapter 5 where there's bare chested women in Mizuki's nightmare (including Mizuki herself).
