My comic was banned on WEBTOON!

I had 7000 subscribers and almost 30 chapters. It hasn't sex, just ecchi... I'm very dissaponited because it was the free work of a lot of months. But this post is not to cry

I'd would like to know how strict isTapas in this aspect. And if nowadays is simple to get the same quantity of subscribers of webtoons in the same period of time. How harder is?

Also, please, I'd like some of you share me tapas's comics with a lot of mature content to know how far I can go.

if you don't care about the app, censored sex scenes is as far as tapas'll go, its hard to find examples since a lot of people care about the mobile version

Unfortunately I haven’t been reading as much lately. You can try to go to the tapas.io and search nsfw. Click the tag option for more things related there.

You then can try search the comic on the app to see if they’re missing or not. The disappearance from search is only on the app, and a thing will still pop up on the web.

It amazes me how peoples stuff just gets taken down without any warning. i'm not doubting you or anything i just think its questionable that they would just take down a comic with 7k subscribers. i mean, did you not have censor for images that needed them? like what kind of content was it? and again, what was the name of your comic?
i'm just curious because i've seen comics with mature content and i am actually following some and they are still up.

exactly. man its just useless. this is why i advice having a personal website really even if its free one. you cant beat that. its crazy how you can be rolling in followers and your work is doing so well and some Ass hat comes out of no where and deletes your stuff. crazy!!

you have more chance of your stuff staying on here but i might just not been seen on the apple app. just be sure to mark the relevant pages NSFW (so if you wont read it in front of gran or your baby sister mark it).

Line Webtoon is a South Korean company run by a conservative government. In that sense it is pretty easy to see why they cater to "K-Drama" style and anything but mature themes that goes past the "holding hands / innocent flat lip-smack-kiss-scenes" The only way you will get away with a mature themed comic as a webtoon artist in Korea (especially sex related NSFW) is by hosting it on your own website or jump onto Lezhin where nothing gets censored.

There is a misconception about Line webtoon where ppl think that it is an american company - but the english version of the website is nothing but a branch targeted towards comic artists in the west (also called a business expansion) and the HQ is still set in South Korea.

Several artists had to go for an interview at the Korean HQ back just a few years ago when they signed a contract.

So, speaking from personal experience, there is nothing weird about LW taking down content that does not stay within a conservative mindset as an overall concept. They won't take down stuff based on a few swear words that are crossed out or a few scenes that has been slightly NSFW but still censored.

Korea is just a very tough business to deal with. but it is still a lot easier to deal with compared to IOS's restrictions on NSFW in general lol

Unfortunately, even webhosts can do this. I found out after I paid for my webhost that they actually don't allow ANY nudity at all, even if it's non-sexual in nature.

As an artist who likes to draw tits, I don't know why this has to be so difficult. There are just so very, very few safe spaces out there.

Now I'm worried about the swearing in my comics though. >_>........ I am really, really anti-censorship of any kind though so bending to the whims of Webtoon and censoring the swearing would just go against my principles. I already don't like having to add in mist and stuff to cover up boobies, but I do post NSFW to my Patreon as an incentive at least.

Pretty sure there are several artists who are always posting very NSFW comics that just have the basic censors here on Tapas. But at least for now they seem to respect that the mature tag is not just a funny symbol - yes, you can't be on the app, but you're not straight up banned if you're still within the rules.

Tapas has no problem with mature content as long as it is behind the Mature Content filter and it is intended to be for artistic, diegetic or educational purposes
