Grotheske | Tapas

This is my baby and I am proud of her.

1- I love the main character both in Grotheske and Voluptia's persona, I love developing them as separate yet the same being. A succubus with split personality was something that really got into me.

2- A lot of influences Dylan Dog, Supernatural, the game Darkstalkers and some of Legion too, the son of Charles Xavier.

3- I love many novels of my friends but so far What Lies Within by Penni, The Love we see in the stars by Valerie Destro are the first ones that come to my mind. Though there are a lot I am starting to read and liking so far.

Going Rogue | Tapas

Currently, I'm working on my novel "Going Rogue" which is about how tragedy struck the peaceful Briar Pack, after Jacob Coldwell decided to preform a hostile take over. My main characters, Jess and Drew decided they rather be rogues than be subjected to Jacob's cruelty.

1) That's so difficult! I have such a soft spot for side characters. I have a character, Mark Cho who was so interesting to me when I was outlining the book and planning it. He sort of took over my thoughts and I wrote a complete novella based on him and his mate. I plan to upload it the second he gets introduced! Haha.

2) I'm addicted to reading Werewolf books and there's the troupe of "Rogue" wolves being the villains. They're always portrayed as the scum of the earth, but I wondered what it would be like to forced to become a Rogue and still be a good person, but everyone judges you for being a rogue. I wondered what it would be like to interact with a world that immediately saw you as something hideous.

3) This is cheating, but whenever I'm asked to provide a book recommendation, I always tell people to read Evan Francisco's "Inside Out" on Wattpad. It's literally the best thing you can do for yourself! It's probably the best webnovel I've ever had the pleasure of reading. However, I will also recommend "Smells like Honey" by Gremlin Spice (on Tapas). She hasn't updated in a while, but I just love her.

No Elle | Tapas

No Elle is a non-romance story disguised as a romance story. The main character thinks she's more mature than she is and enters into a relationship with an older man. Things...don't play out the way she'd expected. It has a good bit of humor thrown in, including a shrimp-based impromptu arm wrestling competition. Only one week left until it's over!

1. Tomie is my favorite character. She's got more sense than most of the rest of the important characters put together. She's got strong Mom Friend energy. She's the character that's been with me the longest, and so she holds a special place in my heart just for that. But she's unashamed to be vocal about her opinions, and I appreciate that trait. She's got an undisclosed invisible disability, but doesn't let anyone give her crap for it. She just blows the main character out of the water in every aspect. But I'd designed the main character to be flawed, so I guess that's not unexpected.

2. I started working on No Elle when I challenged myself to figure out how to improve one of my terrible middle school ideas (I am 28). I'd originally imagined it as a comic, but decided to try using words instead. I'd never written fiction before. Lots of good ideas fell into place and I ended up being very happy with the completed project.

3. I'm ashamed to admit that I've not yet found a novel that resonates with me here on Tapas. I have an odd sense of humor and I'm very particular about what I read. I'm not really into Fantasy, and there seem to be a lot in that vein. So I'm still looking!

Night | Tapas

A story about a girl who must learn how to navigate the world of vampires, something she had not known about until the day she was accidentally kidnapped by one.

It's dark fantasy with a little bit of tongue-in-cheek humor and a slow-burn romance subplot.

1. I'd say I'm equally attached to both my main characters, Zain and Helen, because I love the dynamic between the two, especially after they get to know eachother a little better and stop being childish to eachother. Helen, like a lot of main characters I write, started out similar to myself with thoughts and experiences similar to my own, so I probably have a little more attachment to her. Just to be clear though, she's not a self-insert; during the course of writing she became her own person and not an extension of myself.

2. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but primarily it was Twilight and the whole vampire novel craze from 2010-2012, and a one-shot comic I had read when I was in high-school during those years. I had finished the first draft of the story before I left highschool (it was atrocious omg), and then didn't touch it until the last year or so before I rewrote nearly all of it and fleshed out the characters better.

3. I haven't read too many novels so far yet, but this!!!!

Which of your characters are you most attached to and why?

Probably Kumo and Suna, because their relationship with each other is super wholesome, even if Suna can be too hard on her companion at times. The forever mischevious yet naive Kumo has to have his ass handed to him in order to grow as a baku. She's like the stop sign to his ball of energy speeding through life without looking at his surroundings.

Do you remember what triggered/influenced you to come up with your story?

It's been awhile tbh. I started GN in 2015, and I think back then I was just interested in the idea of a baku, and figured him finding out more about himself would be a fun concept.

Which novel on Tapas, other than your own, did you really enjoy?

So since I've blasted chuva's novel high and low, I'm gonna put the spotlight on another novel with an interesting mystery.

Necromancy Is Illegal But So Is Jaywalking | Tapas

If you're worried about the inconsistent updates, don't worry; they're on purpose. The story is written as a journal would be, updating whenever the 'writer' happens to have a pen and book in hand. In each entry there are hints of low fantasy elements all around our protagonist. They're used to it for the most part. The problem is, they aren't used to it directly affecting their family. More specifically, their brother, who suddenly vanishes without a trace.

I’m there with you on number one! I wanted to be able to understand my characters enough so I gave them qualities of myself, but they definitely morphed to their own “persons”.

Haha! I was that person too with the Twilight ordeal. And then I strayed away from vampires for a while until I watched and read Vampire Knight which reignited my love for those stories.

I’m excited to check yours out! Your characters sounds super intruiging and a slow burn romance is one of the best types!

I just posted the first chapter to a novel I have been thinking of working on for a while. The title is "To Protect Dragons" https://tapas.io/episode/1344485
This story is centered around war that is going to break out between the kingdoms of the North and the South. The Southern Kingdom is killing the dragons, who the North have a very close relationship with. The protagonist Kana, who is the princess of the Northern Kingdom goes to try and maintain peace while also protecting the dragons and her people. Prince Kazuto, who is the Southern prince and who was suddenly throne into power when his father died is becoming the new king. Romance and Fantasy is the genre it is centered around.
1) I feel like I am mutually attached to most of my characters! However, the character I am most attached to Princess Kana because her personality is something that I aspire to be like and she is a very kind person that will also defend the people she loves no matter what. Also because I have been thinking about the plot of this story for so long her character has just resonating with me the most!
2) I remember the exact moment I wanted to write a novel was actually when I was watching the anime Fairy Tail. I loved the magic and fantasy about it but I felt like parts that I really wanted to happen weren't there. I noticed this with a lot of other mangas/ animes i read/watched and wanted to create my own that incorporating all the things I loved about anime and mangas.
3) All the Madam Fatemi series just blew me away! I truly loved them all and thought she did such a great and unique job with writing each story. The characters and plot sucked me in with all three of her stories and I was absolutely in love with them.

Which of your characters are you most attached to and why?
I have a special love for Richard. My darling only wants to do what's best for the kingdom and his people but he really has no idea what's coming for him.

Do you remember what triggered/influenced you to come up with your story?
A dream actually and then a very boring math class where I developed my characters and story lol.

Which novel on Tapas, other than your own, did you really enjoy?
I have a soft spot for Ratscouts The Moth Princess. it is a completed story and something I recommend everyone to read. They'll be in for some sizzling romance and plenty of adventure!
