On a scale from 1-10 How explicit is your webcomic?

If I would have to rate my webcomic in terms of how explicit it has been so far (In terms of containing swearing, blood, gore, themes like suicide, drugs, alcohol)
I would probably rate it a 6? Characters regularly drop F-bombs from time to time, blood and mild gore have been shown a few times and alcohol is commonly used. But I genuinely could not be able to tell the story without these aspects, I love drawing fight scenes and I feel like their impact would not be as great otherwise. Personally I wouldn't really consider my work for mature audiences necessarily, maybe for teens aged 15+
How about you? How would you rate your webcomic and why?

Elsie and Cracking Eggs would be a 2.

In Elsie there is a bit of language but it’s only “damn” and “hell”, but Elsie on the gore level in a certain scene where one of the characters has a flashback of losing his leg is very bloody so probably a 3 when I add that. And maybe possibly a 4 with one of the main characters’s honeymoon. May be a bit suggestive but we’ll see. Haven’t even gotten to writing that yet.

Cracking Eggs also has a bit of blood but it’s nothing crazy one of the characters gets stabbed. There is no language in it. But there is a scene where the main characters are getting shot at.

Mine is not a comic, but a novel. It gets pretty explicit though: curse words are used throughout, because the characters talk the way real people talk. People smoke cigarettes. Hell, teenagers smoke cigarettes because in the 1980’s teenagers smoked cigarettes. The prologue describes a near abduction and sexual assault of a child. Three children die in accidents within the first quarter. A teenage character suffers from mental illness that results in him being arrested, kicked out of his home, and tossed in jail. Two teenage characters almost literally drink themselves to death. One teenage character falls into a religious cult. There’s even a scene where the MC goes deer hunting and gets a deer. Homophobia is a recurring theme throughout. Later on, a major character attempts suicide. Another major character is a raging alcoholic and successfully commits suicide. Even the epilogue contains yet another suicide, not to mention two cancer deaths. But, believe it or not, the book does have a happy ending. There are sex scenes, which are pleasant as well.

Overall I’d give mine an 8/10

And all of this is absolutely necessary in the story, because it is a true story. All of the described events really happened, and it would be impossible to tell the story if they were omitted.

There is some jokes that might offend pearl clutchers but for the most part I don't know there is anything that bad. Maybe some damns or hell and some sex jokes stated in the more PG way.

for Crow's Worth:: 5

Cussing. Sex jokes. Violence. Some darker themes. But also done in a PG-13 way. No F bombs. No nudity. Despite the cute art style, I don't think kids should read it.

Mine is definitely a PG-13. There is blood, gore, swearing where appropriate, sexual innuendo (all the characters are 20 somethings), and mature themes. But its nothing you wouldn't see on prime time television. I even put in the description it's a PG-13 story.

For Gluttonous: The Devil’s Mistake Vol 1, we have a nice kiss of death scene with direct heart exposure! Cursing is at a mid-level. No F-bombs. Violence? Closer to a 7 or 8!

Gluttonous: The Devil’s Mistake Vol 2 so far is very minimal. A couple demon slayings. About a 2 or 3.

Techromaster: Science Incarnate Vol 1 is pretty tame right now. He's burned down an insane asylum and created a genetic monstrosity, but overall, there hasn't been any blood and gore or heavy cursing. A 1 or 2 depending on how heavy you'd scale it.

Our newest novel, Death's First Life, is also pretty tame so far. A 0 for graphic content as it is now.

I'd say an 8, maybe? I'd rate my series as adult solely for that. Like 18 and up.

Also, I have yet to drop major F-bomb, but one of my characters does call someone a c*nt in German.

Profanity-wise, I think mine is around 6/10. There's a lot of swearing, considering the personality of one of the main characters.

I would consider my comic to be mature/18+. There are a lot of suggestive scenes. Even though I censor parts, you'd still know what's happening. So mature themed-wise, it would be 8/10

Blood appeared in the story but won't be explicitly/often shown. There's no gore either. Same with alcohol and drugs! 1/10 for those!

Hmm. Despite my cartoony style, my story does contain a bit of blood, and swearing is mostly censored, or nothing over 'dammit'. Might be PG atm. But that's probably gonna change real soon, given the gradually increasing intensity/drama/themes, and one of my characters would be in dire need of releasing an F bomb, but that's further down the road.

There are a few lines I will not cross (no onscreen sex, but plenty of sexual refs/humor, cause its cocks/roosters. Gore/viscera? unsure still, but it does factor into the story (deals with a slaughterhouse). Might find creative ways to censor those moments.)

I'd give it a 3 or 4, for how tame it is rn, but I'm thinking it might go up to a 5-6 (PG-13, I'm assuming) in the later seasons (let the kids grow up reading it and be slowly traumatized, hehe).

My comic is pretty PG overall; I'm not really interested in profanity, gore, or NSFW stuff. But there's gonna be some pretty heavy stuff later on, including mental health and abuse-related topics, so I've been rating it as 13+ when given the option. I guess that would put it at like a 2 or a 3?

My comic is a 2, maybe 3 currently. Later it'd probably raise it to a 4 or 5, including topics and theme which I won't be detailing here since it is spoiler. Though honestly, I think it depends on the reader's tolerance with these topics. I spoke to someone recently who wouldn't want to read stories involving sexism. So there's that. Sidenote, my story doesn't have sexism in it. Probably.
