@Reign nailed it @aqua03. It's like when you draw a normal human arm, you don't start straight with the muscles. You have a frame work (stick figure, shapes or whatever else could be used) and then you add the muscle.
All you need to do is layer fur over those initial steps and you should be golden!

On a side note, muscle is hard to show when you are placing fur over it. Have you even seen a naked chimp? Damn those guys are muscular, but their hair covers most of it. Not saying that you shouldn't bother in making muscular characters with fur, but that it can be hard to make them look muscular when their fur is hiding it.

The face looks good in my opinion. It still fits your character while also in that in between space of human and animal. I assume you are trying to go for a Thunder Cats kinda vibe?
Tail wise, I like the cat tail. But the tail seems like more of a creative choice, since it looks really good as it is. If you want a shark tail or a cat one, the choice ultimately falls onto you! :slight_smile:

@HomeBrewComics

Thanks! Yeah, was going for a bit of a "80's Science-Fantasy" vibe with the characters in their designs. I'll definitely experiment with that "draw the muscle first, then lay the fur over it" thing you and the others recommended to me. I think I might go with the shark tail to give her a bit more alien vibe (She's supposed to be a biomechanical dragon ,after all.) but I'll keep experimenting with it.

Recently did some experimenting with different brush styles for my comic reboot. Was experimenting with using the pencil tool for a more "pixelated" look reminiscent of an old video game or RPG. What do you guys think of it?

I like brush 3 but you might be able to mix them up using brush 1 where there are more shadows

Thanks. I might still play around with it to see how it looks in that regard.

Thanks! Yeah, it was fun to draw as a breather from my other projects.

Well...I was supposed to be finishing up the last update. But I got side-tracked:

Ended up drawing a 1980s Party girl who may or may not be involved in organized supernatural crime??? I dunno. But I do know is that I fell in love with her design and here we are~!

Colored version of one of my inktober pieces from last year, I don't often do color as much since my webcomic is black and white XD so... gotta get myself comfortable with that alkdfalds

here's the black and white version

these characters are from my webcomic series, it is sort of spoilerish rip

Someone gone and poisoned poor Mr. Unicorn :frowning:
