Been a while since I've posted a WIP, mainly because I haven't been doing much in the way of drawing. Forest fires, then floods, then more floods, combined with home renovations and the increasing demand of taking care of my elderly parents have all conspired to be a major time suck for me this summer. Thank God for the buffer I built up earlier!

Anyway, to get back into it I am making a drawing of the traitorous Jake (the blue haired dude shown in my last post in this thread) meeting Daecon for the first time. To provide some context: Daecon is royalty and has the ability to cloak himself from other shapeshifters. He was cloaking from Jake but the occasion called for him to reveal himself so Daecon chose his lion form for the occasion for dramatic effect. He walked up in front of Jake and suddenly made himself visible, thus scaring the holy bejeezus out of Jake. He is saying "Boo" here. (fun fact: I am a Maritimer, a person from the Maritime provinces in Canada. Maritimers are all known to be full of Bejeezus until it all gets scared out of them).

I would have posted the sketches but dumbass me spent about an hour "inking" over them on the wrong layer, so I ruined them. This is only the rough inking, things still need refining, such as the shape of Daecon's eye

Hopefully we'll have the completed image up late tomorrow afternoon.

Nope. Didn't get it finished. I did get some work done though. I changed Jake's pose and got the final inking and colouring done on the character layer. Started the background but the brain went sideways in my head so no more drawing tonight. Still have to add textures, shading, lighting, etc.

Referencing a pose.. or mostly for the foreshortening of legs
(Faber Castell Tack-It)

Just finished the logo/design project I've been working on the past few weeks...

when you have the hubris to just start the inking process and then you get a few panels in and you're like wait i actually can't do this

I'm currently working on a future arc for my one-year anniversary (Jan). It's mega chunky, so I can't show all of it, but I will take the opportunity to show off my most--unhelpful expressions.

I mean, I know I'm a sloppy drafter, but these faces...I CAN'T BREATHE!

Hmm, suspississs!

And my most clever MC, with his derpy face!

And one more from the leader of this clutch...

This is why I love storyboarding/drafting! XD

not me doing an animation after reaching this morning 101 subs! just so that a few hours ago go back to 99!

Been a while (Thank God for buffers!)

Image 36: Dion attacks Darion because Darion had just attacked a shapeshifter who was in human form (a big no-no). Preliminary inking and colouring done.

Slowly getting stuff done. Got the final inking and colouring done on the main scene, and have started working on the background. This one is an ambitious one, gonna be the toughest yet. Darion and Dionysius are fighting in front of a crowd of people, so naturally I have to draw a crowd of people.

The sketch:

Inking started

And how it looks so far with the main layer placed on top of it.

Late night drawing something for myself~

Not a rough sketch but I still gotta finish the background and shadows

Just sketching out the latest image for Finding Daecon's Way:

...And preliminary inking/colouring done

Thought I'd update ya'll on my fat Jan update, here's something out of context:

context: Three owls have visited the coop...

One of the images for Chapter 37 of Finding Daecon's Way is now under construction. The preliminary sketching (I reused the wolf from the last pic, since he has been hanging in mid air, motionless and under the effect of a spell Daecon cast on him):

First inking done:

Rough colours:

Final colours for the foreground:

Start of the background...

First stage of the parquet floor done:

Setting up for the second stage (making the alternating tiles transparent):

Second stage of floor done:

Background laid out and started (I copied & pasted the windows from one of my other scenes):

Textures, shadows, lighting, and magic added. And finished!

Some day I'll do a step-by-step of how I do my textures. Here's a hint: It's the hard way.

Forcing myself to draw because I've been sick with flu for a week. My hand is really shaky and the faces are terrible, but that doesn't matter for the rough inking and colouring, since it's basically one step beyond the initial sketch

Also, the horse is Otto from The Blue Fedora, obviously in his horse form. I said I'd do it, and I did it.

Finished the one above (posted it in another thread), started on a new one.

There is some serious and previously unknown magic happening in this one. First sketch finished:

I love going back and rereading my comic and then realizing i really don't like the first few chapters and then deciding to redo it because the chapters are short and i want to
(I dont love this, but I am going to because it will make rereading better in the future lol)

Image 40 for Finding Daecon's Way is under construction. Daecon gets his man.

This is actually for the second-to-last chapter in Book 1.

Busy day. Raining out, Little Shop of Horrors on the TV, and I'm drawing. The image above has been finished and posted in another thread. Now I'm working on a Halloween special. Evander dressed up as a character from another series. Can you guess which one?
