I love to look back on this every now and then, even if they're not the actual comic's cast (they're from a novel project). 2011 feels like centuries but it's only seven years of difference between these, and it's crazy.

I think my lineart improved a looot and also the coloring. Till 2016 I was also not so good in proportions.
But I have also many thinks to improve in the future from 2018 to 2019 I got a lot better, because I draw every day to get a better style in order to release my webtoon

This was a drawing of an old (incredibly edgy anime-inspired) comic idea I never got around to drawing. Probably around 2009-2010 or so:

As for now in 2019:

I'd like to hope this isn't too shabby for 10 years of practice and effort. I'm definitely happy with how much better I've gotten at hands.

I have made a comic called "The last Immortal" and why I didn't continue is because I lost my passion for it and the artstyle is awful IMO and I made that comic since 2013.

My art improved because I stuck with it and college also helped a lot since I was able to focus more, get more critique, go out of my comfort zone, suffer, etc. It also helped when I switched to digital art since it's easier to make corrections and get things looking the way I want them to.

I started drawing seriously since 2007. But the earliest drawing I have is from 2009:
My FiNe TastEs and influence back then include CLAMP and pokemon

This one is for my reboot that is yet to be released. I finished it just 2 weeks ago.
12 years have passed and I've had a lot of influences that I can't really list what they are anymore.

Depends on what your art is for. The problem with generic anime art for me boils down to a lack of recognisable identity. My art didn't look like my own. Generic anime art styles might be fine if your audience and themes match that. Mine don't. I don't want my art to look like it could just be somebody else's.

Doesn't mean generic anime artists are terrible. Just means that they're limiting themselves to a set of tropes and aren't exploring as many options as they could be.

Im super grateful for the guidance I started getting after my first story never made it. I still have a Looooong way to go but I feel like I'm getting a better grasp of where I do well and where Im still struggling.
