um...does Pandora count? I don't have an exact playlist but I've customized my pandora radio so much that I essentially have a playlist.

I also really just use a Pandora playlist for my drawing background. I don't like anything with too many lyrics while I'm drawing cause I find it distracting so it's mostly techno/dubsteb/electro swing stuff. Some of the songs I've liked enough to get.

Daft Punk, now thats a good taste, i use to listen to discovery myself.
When i draw something, not sure if this is a human thing, but whatever i look back at a specific old picture of my, i remember the song i was listening to while drawing, does that happen to you or any of you?

Nope I can't say I can remember, my music taste gets broader and broader each year so it would be difficult to try to. Most of my drawings take several hours which would be about 18 songs an hour.

i commonly listen to the most fitting playlist out of this list while i draw/write, each one being suited to the character/group that im focusing on. other than that, i just filter through my faved songs on 8tracks, which i moved over to spotify for convenience.

AWW yeahhh Daft Punk literally gets me so hyped, especially the Tron Legacy soudtrack!! Regarding your question, it usually depends on what I'm listening to... Usually when I draw fanart, I listen to music from the show or game, so in that aspect, YES? maybe there's a psychological association term or something?

When I draw I mostly listen to my iPod playlist, that has too many songs to mention, with a lot of different kinds of music.
The most important thing to me is to avoid drawing in silence. Music gives me the rhythm and the will to keep up on drawing.

I usually listen to full albums when I work, so I can't really put specific tracks' names, but well, I'd love to share too ^^

I mostly listen to OSTs so I'd say:
1. Shin Megami Tensei / Persona soundtracks
2. Anything composed by Kenji Kawai or Angelo Badalamenti
3. 1980s/1990s anime soundtracks (Dirty Pair, Cat's Eye, Card Captor Sakura, Utena - A LOT...)
4. Silent Hill soundtracks
5. Films noirs soundtracks (Naked Lunch, L.A. Confidential...)

If I want to listen to songs/singers/bands when working, I'll usually go with:
1. Sarah Vaughan
2. Hikaru Utada
3. 1980s J-pop and J-rock (REBECCA, Kahoru Kohiruimaki...)
4. Springtime Carnivore
5. Spice Girls over and over again xD

But when I really need to fully focus, I usually go to a nature sounds website (mixing rain with some birds and frogs), or on youtube to listen to the various tracks of a channel called Study Music ^^

I can´t hear music with lyrics or i get easely distracted, and i barely hear music really because i just have some favorite bands and musicians in my heart.

But when i play something and i´m drawing is most likely OST like: Ao No Exorcist, Bastion, Sword & Sorcery, Transistor, Wolfenstein, etc

Funny enough, rather than music I like listening to audio books or have a game playthrough, or a movie next to me. I've only noticed that more recently. I get kinda bored just drawing comics and music doesn't cut it for me.
I've listened to a whole bunch of Stephen King novellas, his thriller "Mr Mercedes," creepypasta and no-sleep podcasts, a bunch of playthroughs by Cry. Even a few musicals lol Sadly, I'm running out of audiobooks since I'm mostly listening to the ones on youtube.

I don't have a particular set of songs I listen to when drawing simply because I will get hella bored with them really quickly. My spotify playlist is 400+ songs right now and that seems to provide the bare minimum variety for me to enjoy. I don't know why this happens to me. However, when I was starting the drafts for my current series, the ZABA album by Glass Animals put me in some kind of weird moody state of mind that was perfect for the story. Right now, I found the band GRiZ, so that's my current playlist. Soon enough I'll be bored with them.

By genre, it might depend on what I'm drawing. There is a particular character that I will only listen to electro-swing music while drawing, for example. When I'm stressed, I will sometimes forgo music and listen to ASMR videos on youtube. They're weird, but they help in some way.
