So I usually post my episodes one page at a time, with the intention of merging all the pages in the same chapter into a single episode later down the line, simply because this looks neater to me. However, I have noticed that with the recent Tapas redesign more emphasis is placed on likes/views, and I wonder two things about merging episodes
1. Will deleting episodes to merge pages into one episode cause all the likes/views associated with that page to dissapear?
2. Is there even any tangible benefit to having higher overall likes/views, i.e. will it cause my comic to be seen by less eyes?
If anyone knows how this works, or has tried doing it themself, I'd love to hear about it.

I didn't know about merging episodes, but I am interested since my last 3 pages tell a sort of song/poem that I've realized would be better understood without having to click on the new page. I'll stick around to read useful replies. Thanks for asking this.

There is no "proper" way of merging episodes that I know of, but what I always just do is delete all the episodes except one, and edit the remaining episode to have all the pages of the other episodes that were deleted.

Ohhh, if so I believe it would remove the views you had on the deleted episodes. Ask someone else for confirmation but if you delete an episode you lose the likes and views it gathered imo, since total views = sum of the views from each episode.

According to old topic, like, view and comment disappears from counts. Not sure about now, but I think it's valid that the counts just reduced.

Are you talking about merging 25-50 pages into one episode? I think you lose all the views/ likes from the deleted pages. And episodes that long might deter some readers because it takes a while to scroll through one. When it's broken to smaller sections readers can take breaks.

It probably dissapears, as many have said.

I started an edition after around 70 one-page episodes and post it as a new comic. Now I can post pages in groups and the old version remains untouched. I think I also got rid of about two thousand dead subs o-o

Maybe consider doing that, even if you don't edit it.

I made this and yes, you lose all the views and likes. Kinda suck, but I decided to merge mine to be more reader friendly

Ah, sucks to hear, but thanks for the answers. I guess I'll just leave the episodes unmerged then : /
