Just trying to get some people's thoughts on tagging comics here on Tapastic. When I post my comic to Instagram and Twitter, I of course have to use the hashtag symbol before each tag. I don't often see (#) appearing before tags on Tapastic, and am wondering whether it is necessary. Also on other sites, as I type in various tags a list of often used tags will appear, helping me decide which direction to go. It seems that on Tapastic I'm on my own in trying to come up with the best possible tags. Often I will go with one-word tags (for example, if I'm drawing a day at the beach, I might use tags like "water", "swimming", "sunblock", etc.). But does anyone ever get creative, and go with multi-word tags ("playing with a beach ball" or "this swimsuit makes me look fat", for example)?
Anyhow, I'm just curious about how you all utilize tags.
And you can find my comic at:

Thanks!

Yeah, #'s are not needed on this site. Something to note is that the episode tags are currently not functional. They're just there, but you can't search for them. Only the series tags do anything for searches.

So what some people do is cracking jokes in the tags, often with multi-word tags. I don't do this myself (I THINK tags don't show up for app users? So I prefer to do it in the episode description) but some readers seem to like them!

(Oops, took too long so I'm echoing Keii4ii, but with pictures!!)

The tags for individual episodes do nothing!

( ^ these ones) So I would usually list a few tags that might be useful if an ability to search or filter is ever introduced, but otherwise just use them like alt-text jokes.

The tags for your series technically do pop up when you when you search:

( ^ the ones at the bottom here)

If you do a search for "deaf" you'll see my comic pops up! but you'll also notice that a couple other comics are listed above mine that aren't more popular, that haven't updated more recently -- I have no idea how the search results are organised. So tagging my comic something more common like "dragon" isn't super useful, since it's buried somewhere in 50 pages of comics, with no way to organise those results.

I don't know how much tags help, but there's no way to see what a series is tagged as without actually searching that tag, so the most we can really do is make some guesses about things a reader might think to search for!

i use my episode tags to be funny and make unimportant comments i didnt wanna put in the caption. so it could be like

'#balor #fual #badmouthing #talkshitgethit #also this page escaped me like a constipated shit #lovely #im actually really pleased with it tho #badparenting'
