Nah, I generally don't like seeing it. I'm just kinda over fanservice as a whole and I roll my eyes and groan at any kind of sexuality in anime. At least, I assume that's what you're asking about anyways and not like sexual preferences.. Not to say that an anime can't have sex or nudity in it, but just.. it's very clearly not an important element of the plot most of the time and it's usually just meant as a "here's some hot scenes for the horny ones watching this".

Very few anime out there actually treat sex as a mature subject, I find. A lot of times it's kinda brushed aside as "we slept together once, we're so in love". I mean.. yeah, sure, I can buy into that. But the relationships are usually kinda bland before they even get there, which makes it hard for me to believe they built up to that.

And other times when an anime does bring up sex, it's usually nonconsensual. Either it's some form of harassment or just straight-up assualt. Usually as a plot device for character development, sometimes nothing changes. I'm not necessarily against it used that way in a story, but I feel like it's cheapens the effect for how often it's used.

Overall, I'm tired of it because of how badly utilized it is in anime. Definitely leaves a blight on some shows I thoroughly enjoy

bruh every popular anime i've watched outside of a select few has fanservice of teens or kids in the last goddamn year. It's not a stereotype. It's well known a lot of anime is trying to appeal to otakus to make back the money they spend on it.

I don't really like animated NSFW, because it's very rarely done well. I don't mind implication and so on but it's very rarely done well in anime. They're not very good at finding sweet spot between the holding hands on the bed fade to black and straight up hentai, which has all the usual hentai problems like giant balloon boobs ect. But implications can be done well. One of the biggest disappointments in a certain anime's fandom is that the anime cuts out a lot of the implications that one of our main characters is sleeping with pretty much every woman who'll fall for him charms as manipulation and filling the void of his depression the manga was very up front about and the light novels even more so.

But fanservice is another matter. I think the fanservice has to fit the show though. We all know the vast majority of anime has a target demographic of teenage boys, hence why lots of the girls feel like a teenage boys fantasy. Watch seinen or jousei anime and the fanservice takes a much more tasteful tone (most the time) especially since a lot of it just has older characters but also because the audience is more mature it doesn't see the need to be overly sexualised. But it does depend entirely on the tone of the anime though. Forced in panty shots and cleavage, not really a fan of generally. But look at Free! you have a perfectly valid excuse for a lot of well muscled young men without feeling like you're forcing it and sexualising to (too much) compare that to Keijo which makes no secret of it being a light hearted fanservice full anime about (contrary to a certain article that has passed around the internet claiming they're in high school) college women. Some anime makes it clear from the start they're going all out to be fanservicey and over the top, but I don't like that over the topness to suddenly appear in serious anime. It feels so out of place. It's something that always felt off about High School Of The Dead. And being careful with it as well. One of things that always got me about Symphogear, out side of the main show because the main show didn't do it but the merchandisers are terrible for it, is the absolutely awful decision to make the underage victim of sex trafficking the fanservice character, especially frustrating when you have actual adult characters you can sexualise.

This. All of this. Like, granted, the OG creator was a hentai artist beforehand, so if you knew that, you knew what to expect. But even then -- with mangas and animes that don't have that background, they try to sell this serious story but all I'm getting is this forced fanservice with the mandatory beach episode.

Case in point: Infection by Oikawa Tooru. I was sold a story about vicious flesh-eating zombies that evolve and stuff. I was sold a story about high school students trying to survive this undead infection. What did I get?

A goddamn sexy harem that just takes place in a zombie Apocalypse setting.

Like, ok, fine -- it's something fresh and new. But that's not what I came for -- if you sold me the zombies, I should've gotten zombies. Now the zombies appear less in each chapter (to the point where I wouldn't KNOW it was a zombie invasion if I just read the newest chapter), and it's all about this harem. It happened within certain parts of The Walking Dead tv series, and that was why I stopped watching that. I don't care about the human dramas or the sexy times. You sold me zombies, I want the zombies.

I think a lot of times, the large amount of forced NSFW/fanservice is given to stories where the creators believe the plotlines are utter shit, so we're supposed to stick around because "hey look -- you saw some hot NSFW action!"

Very much depend on how appropriate it was on the story and timing, though generally, having them wouldn't bother me, but when it's a blatantly F*ckIn Fan service shoved down my eyes that was put into the story just cause, it lower my desire to read since I would either laugh or cringe, though if The story is good and can make me keep my interest, I'll still continue it.

It depends on the anime. For example, I wouldn't like to see NSFW in anime, which looks like a kid's cartoon in all other aspects. And I'm NOT taking about Kaiba and other anime, which are clearly made for adults and consider serious topics, despite of "cartoonish" style; they are good. I'm talking about anime, which look really like anime for kids. Or anime ABOUT kids...
But tender love scenes are in place in romance (and, I'd say, sometimes they are even helpful for revealing characters and their relationships better). And dark kinds of NSFW (rapes etc) are in place in dark settings. But, for example, rape as a part of romance of characters of kind romantic anime, mmm... doesn't look suitable.

Depends. I prefer it as manga simply out of preference, but stuff like inter-species reviewers which borders on hentai at times is clearly from the beginning aiming for this (its an anime about reviewers of brothels its to be expected) so it comes of much more enjoyable. However from things like sword art online season 2 and really pretty much every isekai, it takes me out of it like, MOVE ON WITH THE PLOT!! it just stops and goes "hey look at some tits for 3 min" wastes time.

Really seinen does fan service alot better and more tasteful mostly due to the target audience it aiming for. Really dont care as long as I enjoy it then a fan service that doesn't fit wouldn't take me out of it .

I've yet to see an anime handle sex well in a non-comedic, non-hentai context. And I'm talking about actual visuals of skin touching skin (however graphic, from 'not really' to 'whoa'), not a fade to black when the characters are like just kissing and next scene opens on them getting out of bed.

Fan service is another thing. Don't get me wrong, I will watch titty anime like Queen's Blade and Monster Monsume, but that's because that shit knows what it is and doesn't try to be super serious. And I'll take fan service as a point of parody too like in Kill la Kill.

But when there are times like Asuka getting up in the camera's business and the only thing on screen is her side boobs seen through her neckhole in Evangelion, that's when I eye roll hard.

The "fan service" doesnt bother me really coz I know with most anime if you took it away, the story would still sell...that being said, I hate when they integrate it in so much that the anime/story becomes garbage(I'm looking at YOU, Dragonaar Academy)...

Now there are some shows that got borderline trash(with certain topics), but hey- I'm allowed to like it(Domestic Girlfriend)...and they didnt take it over the cliff(yet).

I used to read that manga too until the MC started to get harem then the horrors seem to be less important to the story. Isekai manga seems to have a terminal case of that. It's to the point that almost any isekai manga that isn't shoujo is just harem. I think I'll just read Korean webtoons instead.

here's a question, did you read the tags/genre of the anime in question? cause usually you can tell if an anime has a harem cause it will say harem in the tags XD, also just a quick google search and here's the tags/genre "Shounen, Ecchi, Mature, Action, Harem, Horror, Romance, School life" so yeah you really should read them before reading the story XD

And even after I saw it again, on a different site mind you, HORROR was the first tag. Meaning, and just stick with me here, HORROR should've been the primary theme of this story.

The Harem? Should've been secondary. Not taking up the entire story. If your tagline is based on horror and your cover is horror-based...the actual story? Ought to be horror. But this is also a occurring theme with a lot of horror stories these days, it seems. If they can't keep going with the actual threat/premise of the story, it dives into trying to keep things interesting by showing human drama. Which...let's be honest, if I wanted to care about who's dating who, I'd just read an actual romance story that's sold as such.
