I will be brief. I am on the verge of 100 subscribers, but I do not wish to receive ad revenue. For some reasons, I am not making Nixvir to earn myself a living. I have written to the company several times to inform them I refuse ad revenue and twice I have been ignored, and I do not understand how the system works. Truly I am sorry, but until I understand how I can refuse ad revenue in a way that is effective, I shall not wish to receive any more subscribers. I deeply apologise for any dampeners I have placed upon the occasion and I wish you all a good night.

I.... uh... I'm sorry... wha...? You do realize that webcomics barely make cash, right? But still, I'm a little confused as to why you wouldn't want to keep some of the money if they're willing to pay for your work.

While I feel like support could help, did you also try discord to directly ask the mods?

An idea is to maybe accept it then donate any earnings to a charity or something of your liking?

Psh, you dont need to refuse it to not make any ad revenue! It just refuses to give you any revenue to begin with! It's a feature

Could you not just take down whatever method of online payment you have linked to your account? I'd imagine the potential money would just stay there waiting to be transferred

You getting subscribers doesn't actually mean you are producing any revenue whatsoever, you need some few hundreds to thousands views to generate even 0.001$ in a month.
If you don't want people to read your comic on this site, well that's another question entirely.

Not receiving ad revenue is the default. When you reach 100 subscribers, you are given the choice to opt in to receiving revenue, but plenty of people can't do that (for example if they're creating a fan comic and thus don't own the IP). If you don't want to make ad revenue from your story, the only thing you have to do is not click the button to opt into it when it appears after reaching 100 subscribers.

Oh yes, to clarify: @kaetana is correct.

Ad revenue does not automatically turn on when you reach 100 subscribers. You have to click a button and opt into the system.

If you do opt in, but change your mind and no longer wish to receive ad revenue, email feedback@tapas.io to ask them to turn it off.

Off topic, but you can post fan comics on Tapas? They'll be fine with it and not make you take it down as long as you're not earning ad revenue?
