Should I feel obligated to? Will people be hurt or offended if I don't reply to their comment?
I've heard that creators should take the time to reply to comments, but I personally get nervous and can never seem to think of the right thing to say. I'm fine replying and posting in the forums, so I don't know why I get so anxious when it's replying to comments on my comic, but I do, and I don't know what to do about it.
I love reading people's comments, I read through every comment I get on Tapas (I try to on Webtoon, but it doesn't send me notifications when I get a new comment, so I'll probably end up missing some eventually) and I try to like the comments that I find interesting or make me laugh. I've never gotten any hateful replies, and people have been nothing but kind and supportive, so that's not the problem.
I guess my main questions are: will I hurt people if I don't reply to their (or any) comments, or is it nbd? Should I feel like I have to reply? If I should, what can I do to feel less anxious about it?
