I draw my comics at 8000x 5600 which is both a large canvas and WIDE because I make my comics in Landscape format. And it was that size & format before I even considered Tapas.
part of why I was nervous about posting here in the first place
because I had to resize them to 940x

so the pages I've ended up posting are a strange blurry quality and I've tried fixing the quality of them so many times
but because this site is meant for scrolling it's probably expecting me to chop the panels of the page which doesn't work with how I format my pages since/ I like to experiment with paneling. & any wide panels are WIDE

i've tried fixing it in croppy, csp, gimp, sai and a few online tools
idk if anyone has any better fixes for this.
I can't change the size of the canvas now since I've already drawn 6 chapters so I'm stuck with this.

Oh that's rough! I feel you on the pain of having a page format comic on a site like this, I used to do that as well. Something you might want to try is that phone comics will often post the comic sideways and put a little "Flip your phone sideways" sign before the panels begin so they can do a long wide horizontal shot. I've never seen a phone comic do this for the entire comic, it's usaully just a few panels, but maybe that will be more legible?

Do you still have the PSD files for your early chapters? I would recommend reformatting to vertical insofar as you can, even if it means the sizing of certain panel borders, lineart, and so on is inconsistent. Readability on mobile screens is a big plus.

I had a go through and repaint elements of certain pages when I made that switch, but it was worth it. I now organise layer sets in such a way that it's easy to adapt my pages to vertical; I just re-arrange the panels against a black background, and increase the size of the word balloons and font.

With the occasional panel which has to be long and large, due to the detailing in it, I have seen artists place those sideways in the scrolling format. (The creator of Punderworld does this with big landscape shots.) I presume readers just turn their phones sideways to look at them. (I typically read on the webpage, so I end up turning my whole head sideways. :sweat_02:)

oh man, I feel you on the wideshot panel woes. (I wish there was a site for horizontal strip comics...)

At 940px width any page comic (particularly one wider than tall like yours) is going to look blurry and undersized, but there's a couple little things you can do when you resize - under resize settings select "bilinear", which is meant for reducing resolution, instead of the default "bicubic" (I use Krita, but I'm pretty sure this is the standard options), and play with the image sharpening tools after resizing.
I also personally find jpegs sometimes end up blurrier than pngs, particularly if you reopen and edit them a couple times.

However, I would seriously consider chopping up your pages for a vertical scroll. I took a look at your comic on your site, and it looks like while your pages are overall wider, the majority of your panels are fairly square, and would be fairly easy to re-cut and convert to scrolling.

I'm not sure about the chapters you haven't posted yet, but so far in chapter 1 it looks like the only pages that will be hard to re-cut are page 4 and pages 21-23, mostly because of the background effects (nice work on those, btw).
Honestly as far the panels themselves go, I don't think I saw a single one that was too wide to work in a vertical format. (if there are some I missed, or some wide panels in pages you haven't posted yet, feel free to correct me either in DMs or here in the thread).
I also think some of your pages, like page 20, are already halfway to being a vertical layout - so re-cutting to vertical might even end up being a fun experiment for panel layouts in general.

I know reformatting pages for vertical is a huge pain to do, particularly if you've got a huge backlog to re-cut, but if you want to make it easier for Tapas and mobile readers to find and enjoy your comic, it's 100% worth the time and effort.

AH Krita worked Tysm!
the rest of the advice was really good but i think im going to stick with simply resizing with Krita Thank you!!!! <3
