I've been using a Wacom Bamboo tablet to draw. But it is not convenient for me if I want to draw on the go, or if I want to do quick sketches. So I'm thinking about buying a tablet. I read reviews online and most of them were mentioning the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and the Apple Ipad Pro.

Has anyone used one of these two? Which tablet would you recommend? And more generally, what are the pros and cons of using a tablet?

My experience of Apple stuff has been much better than my experience of Samsung stuff. But that's just me. Your best bet is get hold of both and try them for yourself. I don't know about the Samsung, but Apple stores typically have iPad Pros and pencils available for you to try out.

I went to the store to try out the two tablets but they didn't have the pen available to try. I'll probably go to a bigger store when I have time. But overall, I've read more reviews of people using Apple than Samsung so that's probably the best out of the two?

What app do you use? Because this is also an important thing to think about when buying a tablet (I completely forgot to mention it earlier!)

Most people recommend Procreate for the iPad Pro, but if you just wanna do some digitial sketching I guess any free app should do the job.

I myseld have a Medibang Paint installed on my iPad and if I bought the Apple Pencil, it'll definitely improve my experience.

I've heard a lot about Procreate. It's good to know there are good free apps as well. It's not difficult to draw without a pen?

Since the start of the year, I've used an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I owned a Tab S2 before my iPad and unless the tech between the two versions has improved dramatically the iPad Pro is leaps and bounds better then the Tab S3. Going from my S2 to an iPad Pro felt like going from a 2014 phone to a Samsung S7, been there too. My sister still uses my S2 and the graphical difference alone is jarring.

I don't draw as a hobby anymore, so I can't give feedback on it's drawing capabilities. I'm a writer and I use mine to edit my novels. Using the Apple Pencil is very fluid, just like writing with pen and paper. I assume it will be as easy to draw as it is to write on it. I also use it the take notes in class and draw basic diagrams. I had to buy an app to do my editing and note taking. Everyone who's tried my Pencil is shocked at how easy it is to use.

I'm not one of those people who buy Apple everything either this is the first Apple product I've owned since the golden days of the iPod when phones were a lot less smart. I chose the iPad Pro because it was the best tablet for my needs. Something I could use to digitally edit my writing and assignments and take notes in class. The app I use backs everything up to my Dropbox, so there's no way I can lose anything. There was a slight learning curb the first few days I used it because the texture of the screen and pencil are different to pen and paper but it is very precise.

It's honestly one of the best things I've brought, I use it everyday. The only con I can think off is the cost but I hope it will eventually pay for it's self. Now I have an incentive to edit my writing I'll save on printing costs and I don't have buy notebooks, pens, highlighters, or physical textbooks for my course. It allows me to carry less things to class, which helps physically. I'm pretty sure I caused permanent damage to my back, carrying a heavy backpack to high school everyday. It's been seven years and my back still hurts if I carry anything heavy in a backpack.

For a huge surface, it is best to draw with the pencil or stylus. If you want to use finger, the phone screen is better, but as someone who makes everything on my phone with my hand, I could only say that I dont recommended using fingers to draw. Its going to be very painful at times.

Avoid all the Android tablet if you need a drawing tablet.
If you love Android and hate Apple then go for Tab S3, but if you only want to draw then iPad Pro + Apple pencil is a better choice.

Just like this video said, the only reason you want to draw on an Android tablet is because you hate Apple.
