Oh nice! I always wanted to do a little fast forwarded one of my process too! Looks great!
these are always fun to see!this is the rough to my latest page...
Here's one from Super Ordinary House. This is what the page looks like after a I scan in the rough sketch that was done by hand.
I sketch in notebooks, draft line work on grid paper, then transfer to the watercolor paper!
My sketch layers look chaotic, so i usually delete them after, but I've salvaged some sketches from previous pages! I usually draw on paper first if i want it to be faster or more accurate, but i also do sketches directly on the PC. These are made with a mouse though, which is why i prefer paper, cause it gives me extra accuracy!
Excellent thread! I've always wanted to see other people's process. Great stuff! I usually make the initial sketch on paper and then I scan it. I re-draw the lines and finish the page in Illustrator. And usually at this point I might add some extra panels or shift the poses little bit.
Here's the sketch of the upcoming page from the Zone-0
Ooo, very cool. I suck at painting myself, so I have respect for anyone who can paint, especially a comic!
It psyches me out half the time, so it takes me a while to get pages out! XD I get so terrified of messing things up haha
The roughs to a far off future page of Legio ArcanaNear as rough as it comes with borders thrown in as a courtesy so you fine folk can have some order to the chaos complete with a shameless note for a copy and paste background!
@Zyephen - looks fantastic already!@Flea-Sha - really like the paneling layout@Zamisam - fun action, particularly with the execution of the last two panels
Here is the one i'm working one right now
Let me know what you guys think
Your sketches are already very clean ! inking must be a breeze !
I use the lineart layer on Sai for .. well lineart lmao! It helps me control the lines better and is much faster, also being able to select and resize or duplicate lineart is such a big plus! It does help~
Thank you!! <3
full page wips are for patreons wink wink but heres a Boy being held
i use clip studio paint with a cintiq 22hd
my comic starts out as chicken scratch haha... i pretty much thumbnail and write my dialogue in long chunks like this, let it sit for a bit, and then revise. when i'm happy with it i'll move the thumbnails onto a single page and refine
I still draw mine tradidionally because i'm so use to it and i have an idea on the prospective and balance. when i work on the computer its hard for me to determine how big or small the image is so it's better to draw it on paper then scan it in then illustrate it from there. i even out the letters on the image so i don't forget their dialogue since i sent have a script. It's easier this way for me and less time waisted.
here is my comic. incase you want to see what it looks like illustrated.
Quite nice! I've always used photoshop for my stuff, but I've heard of clip studio before. Can you compare it to Photoshop? Also I've been considering starting a Patreon for bonus content/chapters of my comic. Do you well on Patreon? Recommend it?
Nice job everyone! I moved all the work to digital in order to skip the pencils stage, so my process goes from
To this
its like ps and paint tool sai had a baby. alternatively: its like photoshop if photoshop was actually originally made for digital painting
