It's ridiculously easy to go through 600 tweets in barely any time, especially since it seems to be counting your own tweets and timeline, replies to your tweets and notifications, and apparently ads and promoted tweets as well, not just searches or looking other people's accounts. The major problem is, it's where a lot of artists have the majority of their followings, and how a lot of indie creators advertise. And twitter moves so fast, if your followers were at their limit when you post your latest piece or patreon exclusive ad or update to your comic, they're not going to scroll back and see it tomorrow. It's gone. And the verification just raises the limit, doesn't actually stop there being a timer on how long you can use the app for. I don't particularly use twitter, but for example, I've been part of a fandom event this week, most of us hit our limits just from promoting each others works and replying to/liking each other's works and there's less than 30 of us and now have to wait to keep helping each other out. It's going to be pretty crippling for fandom spaces (and look how well that did Tumblr) and a big hit to things like indie creators who advertise their products and patreons ect through it.
I mean, imagine if Tapas banned you from viewing any comics after 600 comics, not clicking into them, just them being on your screen, like scrolling through the Fresh section or the homepage, including your own comic pages and imagine how quickly that could actually be reached and how it would effect people's livelihoods.
