Social Media Accounts for your OC?

Anybody here ever made or is thinking about making an alternate social media account just for their OC from their webcomic? I just made one for my female OC Susan Graham from my comic Life of an Aspie. Personally speaking I did it to both better inform people of what Asperger's is like for girls (I'm a boy irl) and because I thought it would be a neat way to keep in touch with my followers while they wait for new LoaA updates from now on.

I have not, but I thought about making a Tumblr account for my main characters Dakota and Ai from my comic. Maybe when/if I get more of a fan base ^^;

for my comic Lalita i don't think i can??? I mean Lalita will take alot of selfies and likes recording her adventures in space but there isn't really any internet in space soooooooo

BUT i did think about doing this for a comic about super heroes. The story is about 5 kids with really bad powers and trying to be superheroes. A few of the characters are really into social media and set up superhero twitter accounts and just do rediculous things. but it would be insanely complicated because there is at least four different characters that have accounts. thats selfies, tweets, and just photos. so much stuff... luckily i'm not going to be doing this story for a while so i can prep for it but booy it would be alot of work.

I think making "fake" accounts for things like this are actually against facebook policy. You could have a "fan page" (which is linked to your personal account) for a character, but not a profile/account for them.

Ouch that sucks. I have one for Susan, but I'm going to be using it for chapter 3 to take screenshots with since I am too lazy to draw a Facebook look-a-like.

When I was in high school my friends and I used to make facebook accounts (yes I know it's against facebook policy) for our characters and even though our characters were all from different universes we often role played with them and it was a lot of fun, it really helped me get to know my characters. I don't use those accounts anymore though ^_^;

I also mainly used them for bitstrips when I was bored.

I tried setting up a character twitter account, but it changed into my general comic account, and is now just my main twitter account. Sigh.

I think fictitious accounts work best for characters that have a unique voice or an interesting perspective on modern life, for example: FILM CRITIC HULK

@sarrowsmith10 yeah it is but my dog has an account and two of my cats with more friends then me. haha facebook has this vendetta against rp accounts i know that for sure and character fbs fall under that.
@Aspie_Gamer no skin off my nose, and thats pretty cool screen cap of your character using facebook ! I do something like that a little later but only for a brief moment. when a new character is going to arrive. we see one of the dude looking at her social media site in the background ....that doesn't happen for a while.
