Oh gosh SO MANY - but right now, Grassblades is devouring all of my time. I manage to make space for a couple of oneshots every now and then, but Grassblades kind of devours my brain most of the time.
Of course, those bits of my brain that aren't full of grumpy dudes with swords tend to be hyperactive and come up with far more ideas than I know what to do with.
Like, I've done the 100 characters meme, and I ran out of slots WAY before I ran out of characters.
Like the story of Orme and Auga. Orme is a mysterious traveller in a desert land. He knows magic and machines and secrets, and one of those secrets is how to breathe something like life into sand. Auga is his creation, crafted out of sand and blood and loneliness. Originally intended to be just a tool, Auga has been aquiring the beginnings of a conscious selfhood, and now Orme has to deal with the idea of having created something that might have a soul.
Like Mirrorworld, where the recently-discovered technology allowing people to flip back and forth between the regular world and a closely mirrored parallell dimension has been spreading like wildfire. Corporations are trying to muscle in on it and monopolise it, but our intrepid heroine rebels against that with her own homebrew solution to dimension-flip, and also there's a bunch of stuff about selfhood and identity and being free to be ourselves and stuff and things.
... or the story of Asa Skullwalker, shaman of the tribes of the great grasslands, who divides her time between looking after her own clan's spiritual troubles (and sometimes the less spiritual ones - Asa is a great believer in cracking heads until people do what she tells them). There sleeps an ancient power beneath the grasslands, anchored by the holy standing stones, and it's up to her - and other shaman like her - to keep that thing chained. This one comes with a bunch of stuff about living with your mistakes, doing everything in your power to make things right, and also the right to self-determination in the face of someone else's imperialist expansion.
.... not to mention the literally hundreds of other stories I've got kicking around. These are just the ones I could dig up pictures of on short notice. ^_^; Lack of ideas is never going to be my problem.
