It is indeed going slow, even though we are all doing our best to finish  The text-based Death Battle idea sounds good, although it seems like it would be a different project.

Personally, I think there are only two ways to make Fight Club itself go faster:

  • (A) have more teams working on matches at once, and/or
  • (B) allow organization of smaller collaborations that don't require 5-6 people.

And as far as I can tell, both of these things are allowed; it's just that nobody has started anything else yet.

I'd like to remind everyone on the roster that you can try to organize an event whenever you want. Judging from what I've seen so far, I can pretty confidently say that nothing is going to happen unless you take the initiative to get some people together and start it. That said, if anyone is "in charge" around here it's probably @Friendly_Sheep since he is hosting Fight Club on his channel, so a good first step would be to talk to him about your plans.

Both matches currently in progress are following a format where there are:

  • two fighters (or teams of fighters - first match is 2 vs. 1 while second match is 2 vs. 2)
  • 2-3 announcers who make commentary before, after, and/or during the fight
  • a referee

This requires 5-6 people to be involved. It's kind of difficult to get that many people together (and there is currently a shortage of announcers and referees on the roster compared to the number of fighters). And when actually working on the project, more people and greater complexity means more opportunities for bottlenecks, making these matches take a long time to complete.

But if someone started a match with, say, just two fighters (no auxiliary participants), then it would probably go a lot faster. It could also be shorter without the need for complex introductions and commentary and stuff. Kind of like this event1 done by TheNiceZombie a while ago which I believe was the inspiration for Fight Club in the first place.

In the end though it would depend on whether @Friendly_Sheep is okay with it. (I mean, even if he isn't okay with it you could still do an independent collaboration, it just wouldn't be part of the Fight Club series).

Hope that cleared something up

as a fellow team member of fight two i would like to support A-toad's proposal of allowing pair of people to work on fights. Toad and I have worked well together on this project and I can confirm that if two people have the dedication to the project they can complete a fight in a relative short time while maintaining a high level of quality to the work.
I think it should also be considered by people that before you commit to a fight project you need to be sure that you have the time and commitment to take part.

Octafg64, maybe you could create a cheerleader position. I could also see Reff as a ref. He could deliver rulings on the field, but no one would be able to understand him due to his accent.

@Zaboem aboem Oh i can handle the cheerleader department! In due time im uploading a new episode featuring bled's Girls choir, full of blonde ladies who could do just fine as cheerleaders, otherwise we could use Ellen who is a cutie

I personally prefer to keep him as a fighter, since im planning to make all this character fight club canonical(first episode aliens drag him into a different multiverse saying "you proved yourself as the ultimate trickster, if you wanna go home prove yourself as the ultimate fighter) i could defo change the tumor mutant for a character with a strong foreign accent, like keth

Also, would it be alright with you guys if I did a death battle inspired text thing alongside the fight club? Just something to help grow the idea of tapas character fights. Rules are death battle rules except the characters don't go for the kill (unless both creators want it to be to the death).

Would anyone be interested in having their characters participate? Would anyone want to be on the judge panel?

Thanks for the offer, you'll also probably have to check with @Friendly_Sheep as well considering that he's the brains behind the operation.

just a heads up, from how stressful and mentally draining match 2 was as an announcer, im dropping Jr out of the fighter roster

Hello, progress update (again):

Our team has set a deadline for the second match to be finished before December 1.

Yes, that is much longer than I said earlier. Now some people are probably thinking, "How the hell can Toad miscalculate the time so badly?"

The word of the day is "bottlenecks". And I also might be bad at estimating stuff.

On the bright side, @aqua03, @KoreanTacos, @Friendly_Sheep, @dawgofdawgness, @ghostieblu, you guys have some more time to finish your match without any problems from our team  Good luck to you all, and sorry if this comes as a disappointment to anyone

@Everyone Hey guys, you may notice a new sub for your comics that just conveniently happen to be here in this forum topic. I've taken the liberty of opening a new fight club account, nobody is kicked off, but the comic will now be open and accessible to more than a single person, and I will assure you that tipping and ad rev will remain shut-off at all times. The first fight will be up Nov 12, this time I'm the one promising it, and it will happen. So feel free to follow back this new but familiar face, while a properly organized fight club is created in the process. I apologize for any inconvenience, this whole thing will have proper standards from here on out!

If I missed someone please let me know, The account will be designed to sub to all participants as a means to advertise comics, if you don't want the sub please let me know now and I can have them taken off.

I sent them to the three I thought of immediately, but if communication becomes a major issue or the account is tampered with without my consent I can delete it as the original e-mail holder to the account.

oh.. I thought it would be given to everyone working on the matches
