I'd apply but my health issues (my elbow tendons turn to bone kinda so I can't work as quickly as many others) & all make me think I wouldn't be able to hack it with that time frame even when working in office. x_x

Just saw that moving to California is not a requirement which is good. I certainly wouldn't be able to afford to do that.

Would this be open to stories that are currently in production?

Is the Novel to Comic thing the only Novel option?

Is the contract negotiable?
If the IP is shared, what rights does the original creator keep?
Is the applying artist also the writer of the project they're pitching?
Is this a full time position, part time, freelance, independent contractor....? Probably independent, which means no benefits (hello health insurance), but that workload is more than what would allow for a full time position on the side.

I've got a full time job already so there's no way I can apply for this, but some things for applicants to consider.

@STAFF I have a question for someone who is not currently publishing on tapas, would you accept pdf attachment of an unpublished graphic novel on the submission email, or would you prefer a link to download it?

Haha. Maybe in the future when you guys still have this program and I have the time to develop my other longer form comics, I'd like to try it out. Seems like an interesting opportunity!

Some things for you lovely folk to consider.

• They are asking for a LOT of work with assumingly little pay. Considering they wont offer help for relocation or housing. Not to mention they aren't offering an actual salary or page rates like most publishers. They are essentially wanting 200 pages in 3-6 months after converting the amount of panels to pages. And these arent small panels. These are vertical-style story panels.
• There will be no benefits if you relocate. Goodluck with insurance.
• Your IP will no longer be just yours. Be wary of this. Remember Tokyo Pop fiasco? Read this if not.
• There is no listed garuntee of a sustainable income nor contract samples.

I am not trying to crush dreams but I feel these should be addressed and taken notice of.

We haven't listed any pay rates in the post. Those details are worked out on a individual basis, but we will payout competitive rates.

For creators that are worried about relocation or housing costs, we are more than happy to work with them from their present location.

We work directly with creators to ensure that the pace of work is manageable and mutually agreed upon.

I think there's a slight misunderstanding in terms of what's expected per panel. Panels will vary in terms of quality, time spent, scope of work, etc - we are hoping to gauge the comfort level of each creator and work with them to during the scripting stage to figure out how many panels makes sense per episode.

In most cases yes, but we're open to anything (whether it's two artists on one project, a writer and an artists working together, etc).

Considering the tight deadline of September 9th for applications, when can we expect an answer? The workload is equivalent to a full time position so this is something applicants absolutely need to take into consideration.
