Tell me what Tapas Success looks like to you

I want to hear positive things sooo. What would make you feel accomplished from being on Tapas? Is a certain number of subcribers? Or maybe being featured? are you already successful? If not how close are you to your goal? I want to know!!!

As for success, I'm aiming for traditional publishing so I'm just doing the best I can

for me I feel like I'm far from being successful right now. I think success would be to have finished my series and having a large number of people who truly enjoy it. after my comic is finish I plan on making other projects related to it

1. Large number of subscribers (this is rather subjective) with high engagement (regularity, comment, and likes). Seems shallow but this is for my self validation. I won't say my work is good unless others agree, and how do I know they think it is? Statistics.
2. People genuinely expressing their interests and opinions (constructive critique included) on my story and my characters. I like getting comments
3. I actually make a good or decent story , I don't want undeserved notoriety. I don't want being popular and wake up to "Why is Kainatarma so popular? She can't write!"
4. People making meme of my story

I actually want to do indie publishing route if one day I got enough following (an aeon later perhaps), with of course bonus materials and merch offered. Traditional publishers maybe think of me and my work as an absolute trash which I have no chance standing, and they're seems to be more restrictive too.

All I want is that is that people enjoy the series. So far people are enjoining it and I was able to finish the first long adventure!! I will feel more satisfied when I introduce all the characters and finish the second large adventure. Yeah, most importantly I would feel successful If the readers consider my characters people that they know and care about. I would be lying if I said I don't wish my comic reached more people, to make it into the homepage seems highly unlikely but it would be nice! -

I know that, technically, I haven't been very successful on here, but in my heart I have been because this is the first time I've ever been staff-picked and the first time I've ever had consistent readers--however few--and people who I consider to be friends. Really, I'm just glad I managed to finish a long-form novel for the first time in like, ten years, haha. So I feel pretty good about my time on here

I hadn't really thought about it that hard, but yeah, I think being front paged/featured/staff picked/wev would be that moment of like "oh yeah, big win!" Not even like because of the surge of readers that has the potential to bring, but like... you have to have a certain level of quality to attain those spots, so it would be a huge positive affirmation to achieve that someday :>

1. My main dream, related with tapas, is to complete my main series.
   I have tried to estimate, how many chapters should I write to reveal at least the main points of the story, and how long will it take (if extrapolate from the experience with writing first few issues). The results are quite unpromising: from the most optimistic estimation, it'll take at least 3 years. I hope that I will have enough patience for this...

2. The second one is harder to explain. The fact is that now I'm planning the... hm, honestly, sort of tragic grand finale (I hope this is not very big spoiler?). Because it (as I think now) logically follows from all the other stuff which I'm planning to reveal (particularly, there will be revealed a bunch of disgusting sh*t about the main characters' past and their personalities, as well as they will make a bunch of even more serious and global sh*t to the moment when the story will come to the end; I hope I will not banned for it ).
   So there is another dream, related to it... some infantile one
   I want my readers to convince me before the very end, before the last chapter, that not-the-worst ending is possible and cool too That after all this sh*t which will happen in the story, spark of a hope still exist
   I mean, I want to sincerely accept the possibility of the not-the-worst ending, to believe in it in whole my heart and to sincerely change my mind about it, even if I can't do it right now. If I'll believe in it and implement it will good emotions about it... if that miracle will happen, maybe it will mean that there is finally some positive dynamics in my long-standing chronic depression?.
   I know, again, that it is very childish and also I think that probability of this is very low. But it would be the really huge and meaningful success... of some strange sort.

3. And, returning down to earth... tipping. I need more tips and patrons, definitely. If I'll collect more of them, it will be success too. ...but, again, it will be possible only if I'll not be eventually banned for my content, of course. Honestly, even that would be a bit of success itself.

Totally agree. But for me it is even more unbelievable that what I've already listed.

There are a few milestones I've considered for my to see myself as a success on here:

• 10 subscribers
• 100 subscribers
• To be featured

Other than that there are the intangibles, like feeling embedded within the community and that feeling that you're taking part in a more active (or even influential) way.

The ultimate goal is of course, money. I'd love for this to be my living, as I'm sure most here would, too. But that's a very, very long way away.

Right??? Especially since I'm a writer and not a very good artist, fanart would make me so excited!

So... success goals for me:

• Fanart & fanfiction Haven't gotten any unsolicited fanart yet, but I hope it'll happen
• Ooh, and feedback. To me, this goes along with the last point, but I love hearing peoples' reactions.
• To have something traditionally published
• To be able to write & create stuff full time
• To have somebody tell me that my work affected them in a significant way
