Tell me your favortie bleach character!

I'll be honest - I gave up on Bleach around episode 54-55 (the end of the Soul Society-arc). I did see some episodes after that, but after struggling through the HORRENDOUS vampire-filler arc, I found my will to keep watching slowly withering away through the Hueco Mundo-arc, and never finished it.

That said.

For obvious reasons.

Zaraki Kenpachi and Kusajishi Yachiru.

I mean, I even draw a comic heavily influenced by them. XD They definitely had something to do with the creation of Masahiro and Akane. Masahiro has a MUCH better sense of direction than Zaraki, thankfully!

Other favourites (keeping in mind that I quit watching the Hueco Mundo-arc about a third of the way through it) include: Grimmjow, Sado, Isane, what's-his-face the First Squad lieutenant (the yellow-eyed dude with the rapier), Tatsuki, Karin, Hitsugaya and Yoruichi.

Kenpachi and Chad are my favorite characters. I like all of the good captains and lieutenants and humans (essentially all of the good guys), but those two are my absolute favorites

If you like reading manga, read the manga version. It's good until after the Aizen arc wraps up, IMO. To me that's where the series should have ended because it wrapped up amazingly, and then Tite Kubo was like "HAHA nope we're still going" and I was like "BUT WHY. YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO ADD TO THIS THAT WILL GO SO WELL."

I think my favorite character would be Zangetsu. He's just a badass y'know?

By all means, yes. It should have ended at the end of the Aizen-Espada Arc. Then you get the Fullbring arc and the Blood War arc. Fullbring felt a bit half-hearted, but I'm really enjoying the Blood War arc. It's ending a lot of stuff (especially the lives of important characters), and it seems like Tite Kubo had a lot of this planned from the beginning. It just... fits. Fullbring aside, I'm excited for the real official end of another Flagship series. Lets just hope Bleach doesn't follow Kishimoto's route by making a Boruto. I'd love to see something altogether new, or maybe even a reboot of Zombie Powder.

I love Rukia. I was a hardcore IchiRuki shipper, but the fandom got... super toxic :< I left the fandom after making a 4-part, 100-pg IchiRuki doujinshi.

But yeah... it was actually the fandom that pushed me out of reading Bleach. Since I would be too tempted to see what people thought of the new chapter if I kept reading, I went cold turkey. I don't have that compulsion anymore, so I've picked it up again.

I do like reading manga, but I tend to prefer anime-versions when it's the fighting-heavy shounen type of story - all that dynamic motion looks awesome when animated! The same goes for One Piece; I follow the anime, rather than the manga. I do own the first 7 or so volumes of the Bleach-manga, and they are neat. I might give it another shot sometime.

But you are SO RIGHT about his decision to keep going and keep cramming new villains and stuff into the storyline. It's like, YOU BEAT AIZEN! YOU BEAT THE DUDE ASPIRING TO BE A GOD! Where the heck do you even GO from there? D: One Piece gets away with continuing after they have beaten the snot out of the dude who is literally god, but they took an entirely different approach to it.

But if we're speaking of Tite Kubo, I have to say I actually like his earlier work, Zombie Powder. It had an interesting world, the same level of action as Bleach - and best of all, it's only four volumes long. Unfinished, yes, because it got canned, but with only 4 volumes, he never had time to derail his own storyline.

Renji is my favorite character even though he continuously get the snot kicked out of him. That seems to be a running theme with alot of my favorite characters in shonen (like Vegeta). I also love Renji's evolving character design with the added tattoos and change in hairstyle over time. (very noticeable in the current manga pages)

Orihime. I find her to be adorable, ever since they first introduced her. I got a collector's book that had the original one-shot that the series sparked from and she was in it along with (a miniature) Rukia. I'm really disappointed by how fans of the show talk about her online, calling her useless and weak just because her power doesn't revolve around fighting. It's not in her nature, of course her powers wouldn't evolve for that purpose. She doesn't want anyone to die because she knows how it feels to lose someone. I'm so glad a show about fighting has a character who honest-to-god just doesn't want to fight. Shippers will often hate on her too because she appears to be a rival for Rukia. It's not a romance, and even if it was, you don't have to hate one character just because you favor another.

Chad's really cool too. I wish they had done more with him.

It's been awhile since I read Bleach but I'd say the early stuff was a huge influence on the comic I'm doing now. I really liked the series more when it was people in stylish clothing slaying monsters rather than fighting often less interesting people in period uniforms. But I might eventually read it again just to finish it.

This said---I'm still attached to Ishida and Rukia.

@Savannah I am a pretty patient person! XD I mean, I stuck with the Naruto-anime throughout the entirety of the filler-year. Yup. I've seen the episode where Naruto dresses up as Elvis. I've seen the episode where they use their super-special ninja powers to make ramen. I've seen them all.

... The reason being that as a Swede, I've been kind of starved on available anime growing up, so I've been more willing to watch pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Also, I kept on holding out hope that next week, surely next week, we would get Kakashi Gaiden.

With Bleach, I realised somewhere halfway Hueco Mundo that I just did not find watching Bleach at all fun any more. It just wasn't. And the brief moments I got to spend with my favourite characters just weren't enough any more.

@AnnaLandin Wow all the fillers? o_o daaaamn! Yeah I was more geard towards Naruto growing up so I know I've watched a couple hundred episodes of that, but Bleach...for some reason could not get into it like my friends did but my friends grew out of it once they saw it was getting kind of ridiculous. After my Naruto phase I started watching shorter animes, I just overall like the storytelling in those better. I'm not a vary patient person xD I wish I was.

@Savannah I cut my anime teeth on the very first Fullmetal Alchemist anime (i.e: not the Brotherhood-version), and moved on from there to Naruto, Bleach and One Piece.

I'm still watching One Piece. XD Unlike Naruto and Bleach, One Piece has managed to keep my interest, and while it has dips in storytelling quality here and there (there are fillers in the anime, and some canon arcs that are less than stellar) it never dips very low, and manages to keep me interested through a mix of drama and utterly stupid jokes.

But, like you, I prefer shorter series, or simply movies, these days. One Piece is the only long-running show I have the energy to commit to.

Geez, I haven't read the manga in years...(honestly I only remember very little from it). I think I only got to volume 9 or something.

I think my favorite character was Kisuke.

My sister was far more into it than me, I was more of just a Naruto person.

I actually followed the Bleach manga, weekly, until the end. A lot of that was probably time best spent on other things. But the manga had enough moments to string me along.

And as for my favourite character... Things is going to sounds super weird but I always like the quirky and sort-of disgusting Mayuri. I always believed he wasn't the sadistic dick he was made out to be in the beginning of the series. And I guess I was... kind of proven right.

I mean, look at that weirdo! How could you not love that face I mean art design...

I liked him at the beginning as well. Though he's not my favorite character, he is definitely one of them. I actually find myself quoting him all the time, and my favorite quote from the entire series is one of his. "To be perfect is to be unable to improve any further." (or at least my version of it: "Perfection is boring because it leaves nothing else to strive for.")

I'm Kisuke Urahara all the way but I'm also a big fan of Shunsui and Kenpachi! Just wish we got to see more of them in the manga :/

I love the design of vasto lorde Ichigo. But as a character, Rukia. I always liked the troope of a character secretly from a different world (dimension, culture or even just different status) that clashes with every mundane situation. But especially how cocky she acts thinking she's acting normally
