What is the most tedious part to you?
Most of us here are doing comics and writing stories because we find a serious sense of enjoyment and fulfillment out of making them. However, we should be honest; this is not always easy. There are parts that are kind of necessary to making a complete work that aren't particularly fun. For instance, one nice thing I've found out about drawing perspective is that all it really is finding out which lines go straight and which lines go diagonal to the perspective point. That being the case doesn't take away from the fact that IT TAKES FOREVER! I never feel more antsy when I'm working on pages than I do when I'm inking backgrounds (so many window sills and door frames!), but I try to put in the work because I think its a necessary part to making my comic look good. I'm also trying to get into to learning more about color theory, and even that is seeming a bit too complex and time consuming (or maybe its like perspective where it just seems difficult at first), but I want to get that down because I know I'll need it.
So, for me its perspective/backgrounds, and maybe colors that I find tedious, but what about you? What do you find to be a tedious part of your process, but still find necessary to complete? Is it the inking, the coloring? Maybe its the planning before you get to draw? Proofreading? Or maybe its something outside of the creating like marketing and promoting your work? I'd like to hear from everyone whether you write, draw, or do both.
