Those Tapastic Emojis

Okay, I don't want to sound like a whinger, but I will anyway.
I hate emojis. Every freakin' one of them, and if I were to be honest, none bother me more than the ones used in this very forum.
Here's what I think of them....

- The 'We'll be together forever' face that an obsessive partner has before he/she stabs you, then stashes your body in the basement and dresses you up like his/her mother.
- The 'I've just put one of my bodily fluids into your coffee' face.
- The 'I'm trying to be nice so you won't find out that I really want to stab you in the eye with a fork' face.

Am I alone here?

I actually type in an extra space in my emoticons just to avoid them turning into graphics here on Tapastic - because let's be honest, : D is friendly, while looks like it's about to devour your soul.

I don't mind emojis in general, but the the here on Tapastic is kind of terrifying. Also, the emojis themselves are so large that they look a bit out of scale compared to the text next to it.

yeah i hate them to, when ever type the text face version, i always get pissed that it changes to the shity emoji, but not enough to go and fix it

I'd prefer the purely text emojis as well but I also don't mind the tapastic emojis that much. When it comes to forum smileys I try to ignore possible other interpretations and just focus on what they are probably intended for.
(Otherwise I'd go insane... )

I'm not a fan of the Tapastic emojis either...I usually just do it like =) to avoid the scary face =P
I guess reversed smileys could work as well to avoid the emojis (:

I use emojis out of habit since many of my friends thinks I sound angry with out them.... But I prefer it when they are in code and not change into pictures. I make emojis here out of habit but to be honest they always scare me when I look at my posted post. ^^;;
They are way to big and brutal. :-o

I probably wouldn't mind them so much if wasn't there, staring at you with those dead, hungry eyes that want to plunge you into an abyss of filth and despair.

While the : P one feels like an offhand neutral cheekiness or being mildly sarcastic, the gives a "Excited Happy In Your Face" vibe...
Or someone that's ready to do some fore*snip*

Whatever. Put that thing into the end of your sentences directed at me and I will be feeling mildly annoyed

I'm glad someone finally said this. Yep, I pretty much find all emojis freaking creepy. Not a day goes by where I don't get REALLY ANNOYED by how disturbing they are. I end up having to make do with and and in order to show my benevolence instead… and let's be frank, flowers and whales do not help me out when what I really want to use is : P or : |

Well as least they look better then the Apple versions. Tho it's weird that it is just cats. I guess emojis came from Japan and cats are popular and all.

hahahaaha yeah i really dont like the emojis here. sorry to them. nothin personal. but i like emojis in SOME forums! i used to be all over gaiaonline and i liked the ones they had. i used more emojis than words actually. i was super annoying. but these ones either take the emotion im tryin to show from 1 to 1000 or from 1 to asdfghjkl and im not down with it
