In my country, if you don't get married at a certain age, you'll be called an old virgin which is a form of a derogatory term. But if you get married early without having a stable job and life, you'll be called irresponsible and thirsty for not being able to control your desire.
Stupid, if you ask me. Oh, and every year, we have this holiday where we visit our friends and families in order to deepen/tighten the relationship between families... guess what's the favorite question is?
1) How old is your son/daughter?
2) Are they already working?
3) Are you already married?
4) When are you getting married?
5) Are you getting married soon?
6) Did you already have a child? You should have a child soon
7) You're having a child again? Did you not pop up one just last year? (this is to a married couple)
9) Still not graduating? How long do you want to take to finish your study? You're 24 already. You should have a job and get married.
10) What are you doing now? (asking whether you have a job, still studying or unemployed)
Here, you will definitely receive those questions and notice how most of them is about getting MARRIED?!
Some even became rude about it so if I ever met that kind of person, my only answer was:
"Man proposes, God disposes. We make plans for that already but God is saying it is not our time yet. So, auntie, you're already this old, how come I've never seen you go on vacation even once? You have sons and daughters who already work, do they never think of going on a vacation with you? Oh, wait! I guess they are busy with their children now. I see a good example here. Before having children, I should at least bring my parents out for holidays. My mother did mention she wanted to go to..."
My cousin was worse. He asked when is the funeral whenever he got this kind of question
