Hey guys! So I have noticed a large decrease in my view count since s1 ep25. And I do know tapering off is expected, but my last few updates are lucky to reach 5-10m views when I was getting 30-40 even on the lowest episodes. Suggestions? I just started season two but dont know how to get more people reading. I advertise where I can and bring it up when possible but I dont know what else to do. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi! So I wouldn’t say that a drop off in views is something to worry about at all- I’ve been publishing for over a year and viewing waves come in peaks and valleys (at least in my experience). There will be some months where I get upwards of 500 views, and some where I only get around 100 (or less). Some days I’ll get 50 views, others I’ll get 0. It’s totally normal, and soon enough I’m certain you’ll get a surge of views, as that tends to be how this stuff works lol. There can be lots of potential causes, however I wouldn’t worry too much, as usually there isn’t a huge cause. Keep up the good work! Your art is very nice :3

Seconding what Wolsal said! My views have been up and down lately too. Just keep on posting and you'll be fine! :slight_smile:

My observation is that there is always, for every single series, a clear dropoff at around episode 20. I'm convinced that there are bots that read the first 20 episodes of your series and nothing else.

Here's an even more obvious example:

I wouldn't take it as a sign that your work is bad. It just seems to be A Thing.

Seconding that again! I even see a huge drop off just after the chapter heading page, which I think lends ode to the theory that it’s bots imo. For example, my comic has ~800 views on the chapter 1 heading, and then on the actual first page ~200 views. Ah bots, the ever present letdowns, lol.

To add to what people are saying--and they're saying valid stuff!--the vast majority of readers sub to multiple comics on Tapas. Sometimes they start focusing on just 1 or 2 comics for a while, then come back to yours and others. And what most of them do is go through a "catch up" period. A lot of the time, readers will wait to read a comic that has updated multiple times so that they have more to read in one sitting. I know people who read my stuff consistently but at the rate of every 3 months, instead of every time I update. That way, they have 6 updates to read (which is usually 12 pages in my comic.)

Don't get bent out of shape! Just keep at it. :}

sometimes quality is better than quantity i would suggest being your own critic and deeply analyze your work and maybe put all your pages together in one episode, your episodes seem way to short

Yeah, I was doing 5 panels per episode at first, but Im in college and am a Resident Advisor on campus so im way too busy right now for more panels each. I really do want to make longer I just dont have the time. and I could extend updates to once a month, but I feel like it would be too odd to switch to once every 4 weeks from the every other Im doing right now...
