Before starting the day:
- Drinking water
- Radio Taiso
- Stretching
Before working:
- Hand and arm stretches
- Straight position of desk, avoid slouching
- If you work with a pc, make sure the monitor is high enough so you look up straight at it without lowering or raising your head
- Make sure your chair's height is positioned so your arms are resting on the table/desk at a relaxed 90° degree, same for your legs
- Do a few warmup exercises, hand must be relaxed
- Move your elbow instead of your wrist
During work:
- Keep hydrating yourself
- Take small pauses every 20-40 minutes of 10 minutes and stretch, you can stand, crack the bones of your hands, stretch again your fingers and such.
- Take the pauses to re-adjust to check your posture
- Make sure to pay attention to the way you're holding your pen and hand posture. Some people tend to hold their pens the same way they'll hold it to write down stuff. For drawing, there are specific positions to hold a pen depending on the element you're supposed to draw.
- Move your elbow instead of your wrist
After work:
- Stretch again, do a few massages in your hands with creams and such
- Stand up and walk a bit
- Take a warm shower, before entering it make sure its warm enough and first thing the water has to hit is your back/neck
- From time to time, put your hands on warm water with soap and coarse salt, keep your hands there until the water gets cold.
The only thing I have is back pain but due to an hereditary condition that my dad and great-grandmother share with me. But its been a few years since I've experienced wrist pain, nowadays is a few ingrown nails on my pinkies or index fingers besides normal fatigue.
Recommendations:
If your wrist pain lasts around 3-4 days then it could be fatigue or stress due to bad movement, if it lasts around 6-7 days go to your doctor.
Depending on the cause or diagnosis you may or may not be recomended doing paraffin baths.
Paraffin baths are good to reduce stiffness and pain, but its recommendation will be limited. Since the heat is meant to open up the blood vessels and such, if you have diabetes, skin diseases, wounds and similar then a paraffin bath is not recommended.
Exercising is good, I would recommend going to a gym and specify to the trainer your condition, and based on that they'll recommend certain activities to help you out.
