What do you listen to while working? :)

It's still a mix of electronic and downtempo for me but for the past few weeks, all soundtracks from NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Genesis consoles. Those classic chiptunes, the lively polyphonic flow from the 90's soundcards are incredible for helping me focus. I still pop onto the NESGuide online station (you can tune in to just NES or just SNES music as well as a mix of both!)

It's music engineered to accompany problem-solving, and YO, what is comics creation but a massive equation you work on to the end?? X]

I like to listen upbeat happy music like A Great Big World or Hey Ocean, but lately when I draw ive found myself listening to random youtube videos on the background, like top tens or podcasts.

I usually put on a documentary I've seen before, or a historical audio book. I have to be learning constantly or I go a little crazy. It's weird.

Depending on the mood, the most usuall thing is anime and videogame soundtracks, but sometimes I get a little specific, When I am drawing my comic The mexican I hear a lot of acoustig guitars like "Rodrigo & Gabriela" some country songs, sometimes desolated songs and even metal, but when I am drawing (mostly writhing) Disaster Five I hear indie groups, maybe rock groups, depending on the character I am Writring (foo figthers, weezer, blonde redhead, ougtasing, Mayew Hawtorne...)

Youtube normally, channels like 'This is Dan Bell', or 'Rob Dyke', or 'They Will Kill You'. Sometimes let's play, or dramatic reading channels. Anything that can give good background noise.

I usually listen to Kajiura Yuki, though lately I've been branching out a bit. I've been listening to All That Ghibli Jazz (it's great seriously), Bonobo, Tycho, Tipper, O.T.T., et cetera. I also really like the Ao No Exorcist OST, The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Orchestra, and The Durarara!! OST. I prefer listening to music without words while I work because it's easier for me to focus. I used to try listening to podcasts, but I realized I can ether pay attention to the podcast, or I can pay attention to my comic. Maybe one day I'll be able to do both =_=

I usually listen to music that relates to the mood of the page/panels I'm working on. I was a musician all throughout high school and we always made stories as a band. We'd get new music and just listen to it first, not even read the sheets with it. Afterwards we would talk about the composer's intentions and ideas about the story or ideas behind the music.

Then we'd sit together and make a story to go with it, going measure by measure, note by note to make a song with a story. I kinda still do that but reversed. I think of the story or drawing I'm making a choose a song that I feel fits that to serve as a way to channel the emotions I want to put in the page. ouo

Works for me and people seem to be feeling what I want them to. :'D

i listen to a variety of music, video game music, pop songs rap , it just depends on what i am drawing most of the time, b ut if not i would want some YouTube videos, cartoon or a Hells Kitchen! XD (I love Hell's Kitchen!)
I know i have to have something going on in the background for me to work, its kind of creepy if i work when its silent.

I usually listen to documentaries on Netflix if I'm drawing, but if I'm writing it has to be music.

Love the Porter Robinson album Worlds, and of course Glitch Mob for the action oriented stuff, and Two Steps from Hell for the sweeping epic world building stuff. Otherwise I have a pandora playlist that's all soft music that helps me concentrate on what I'm doing.

When I first started drawing and was at my grandmothers all summer all I really had was the radio and a Three Doors Down cd my sister gave me. So that sorta became a sound track for me when I'm drawing. Honestly besides that I will listen to most classic and contemporary rock, but tv is way too distracting and I just end up watching it all and bearly doing a frame.

Generally, I listen to a lot varying musc that depends on what I'm drawing. If it's a calming comic, I'll do Phil Ochs or the Seekers, or if it's just a silly, funny comic, I'll do some musicals or country songs. If it's super actiony and intense, on goes Meat Loaf!

I have a really long playlist which includes all kinds of music. Some of my favorite bands to listen while I'm drawing are the ones like E.S. Posthumus, Within temptation, and Two steps from hell. At least when I'm drawing something dramatic

I made a play list for each of my characters. So I usually choose them depending which one I'm drawing. If not I usually go with movie or video game soundtracks. Instrumental music really sets the mood for me!!

There are certain bands that transport directly to determinate things I wrote/drawn, because I listened them most of the time while I was working on that... So if I'm not listening "whatever is on the spotify radio", I chose to listen it again: Wardruna, Hun-Huur-Tu, Moscow Art Trio or Emerson Lake and Palmer, and maybe too A LOT OF FOLK MUSIC of Scandinavia.

Well, OST of LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean or Disney Songs are too a good choice for me
