I'm Roman Catholic. The concept of a God taking his own medicine appeals to me (sounds a little dark, but when you come into the Bible with that perspective it makes the whole crucifixion segment really vital).
I'm also studying psychology and the Bible at the same time (I'm studying to be a Radiologist, so I'll be learning more about the human body). It's been an interesting experience just breaking the body down and all that. Despite learning about schizophrenia and all that, I do believe in demons just for the fact that I met exorcists and they were the most logical people ever. They could've taken advantage of my Mom when she was paranoid, but they gave logical answers to her questions.
I will say I was a period where I was a full blown atheist. I was very bigoted and bitter against Catholicism (mostly because of a disease that made me stay home BEFORE the Corona Virus began). I was like "Oh they hate gays" and such and such and it wasn't worth following... but then I was sorta fascinated with my relative and how he lived in the most rundown city in the United States, saw people die, fought against people who became infamous killers (never lost a fight), had friends die left and right, and had a father with shady ties. And yet his answer was that God exists. He told me it wasn't cope that came to that answer, it was "logic".
And then I gave it a shot and yeh. A lot of the questions I had had simple answers. I think I'm probably one of the few people on the forum that's all for organized religion. When you read about saints or popular Catholic figures, you become fascinated with how a lot of them fought back against the Church just to make it better. Like Juana Ines de la Cruz writing the first feminist manifesto. If it wasn't for her, women wouldn't be learning in Mexico. Or how Archbishop Sheen said no to the Church when they wanted to take advantage of the money he received for donations. Archbishop Zen recently was arrested by Chinese police for doing a rally. That was one of my biggest wake-up calls when he was fighting alongside a big LGBTQ+ singer figure to make things right (he was still with the Church despite them enforcing the communist prayer... that kinda stuff gives me faith in the system he's in).
I think Mexico overall though is what fascinates me the most about Catholicism. For the longest time white atheists tried to make me to think they were brainwashed, but nah son. Turns out we're too smart for that. We're walking contradictions, having pride for their Aztec side and their Christian side and that's awesome. I recommend people listening to "I AM JOAQUIN". It's a beautiful poem that bridges together the Aztec side with the Christian side and acknowledges our colonized history and how we took it with stride.... it also made me understand why apologizing for what your ancestors did is stupid. Yeah if you're white and you've done this (because I remember someone doing it on the site)... how about not doing that? Thanks.

Those are my thoughts though. I'm fine with anyone have any belief just don't be a jerk and don't push them onto other people. I hate hate. The whole provocateur movement is stupid.
@candiedcotton Also I read the article. THAT'S AMAZING. Love the name too "God Spot". That actually makes me even more optimistic. I wonder if my program will talk about it.
