What is the one thing that causes major distractions when you're working on your series, weather it be comics or literature.

The one biggest thing that's been distracting me from my series is a game called Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019. It's a game where you can drive trains and build your train routes. I can safely say that I can become incredibly addicted to this game, especially the route building respect. Some of the routes I've built is a recreation of a high speed railway in the North Eastern US, a recreation of a rail line in 1950s (which is set around the time my series takes place), Chicago rail lines in 1950s and many others. I've driven steam trains, diesel trains, electric powered trains, old trains, fast trains, subways, and trollies from different countries and different eras all from the comfort of my own home. You can probably guess I'm into that type of stuff just by reading this.

I think it's safe to say that while this game can be fun, it can serve as a major distraction like most things. I have been trying to limit my time on said game but sometimes, the need to drive big ass steam trains at high speeds is too much for me to hold back lol

my own inability to sit down and get stuff done. When I CAN convince myself to sit down and do it, I get distracted in like 3 seconds lol

Sounds like you gotta definitely separate work time from game time, buddy! haha, but I feel you on the mighty need to get back to an addictive game. :v:

A big distraction for me is sound if my brain isn't in it right away. Gotta plug in and jam out so I can get sh*t done.
Also, having OCD doesn't help. lol
We all gotta manage somehow! xD

Other ideas for me, to be honest - I have to cycle through ideas so I don't get burned out, so it tends to take me forever to actually finish something.

I live with ADHD, so, um... everything. :cry_02:

Though at the moment, it's the new Webtoon Canvas discord server. That place is a double-edged sword - I'll waste hours chatting on it when I should be working, though if there are people online watching others stream, I can stream what I'm doing, which actually prevents me from wandering off and getting distracted, and helps me work a bit faster as well. (Because who wants to watch an artist re-draw the same line a half-dozen times, right?)

So I typically write 3 or 4 stories at a time. While I'm always motivated to write, I have a hard time deciding which series to focus on, so I end up jumping around going in a circle slowly working on everything Rather than steadily finishing one thing. But I actually think this works for me because taking breaks on stories, when I eventually get back around to them, I usually have a lot more ideas to implement.

I'm pretty sure the day I only have one story to work on will be the day I know my last story.... or it'll be the day I start on sequels.

 atm this forum so I dont fall asleep and finish this chapter xD

Summary

in general, chronic pain and all the home chores or extra irl work Im doing. I havent played a video game in 5 years and reducing my watch anime/movies time to get more sleep.
Illness and chronic pain makes me to slower than before in everything and its so frustrating

When I get rid of work hours and time spend talking to friends to keep my sanity.

Videogames are my biggest time sink, it used to be mobas were my downfall as I couldn't escape their gravitational pull, but right now that doesn't happen as often.
I do have A LOT of games on my PC at any given point, usually I'll have a game i'll obsses over for like 3 weeks then stop playing when I bore and find another, but nowadays I can time it better and usually have straight times to do things.
I cut back on mobas (still allow myself the occasional SMITE) and only play chill games that don't drain much of my mind, these past few weeks it has been 'stardew valley' and 'desperados 3', along with the occasional genshin impact.

Albeit I also learned to pace out my writing better, fixed times has helped immensely with productivity, so nowadays I have better time management overall.

Sometimes I still get super pressured by ALL THE STUFF I'M JUGGLING AT ALL TIMES, but that is just adult life when you have to work and create.

my biggest distraction is probably well alot of things real life eating sleeping food having to go to bed um games and spacing out when trying to edit i add more lol but mostly real life and games

For me, it's videos about leopard geckos because my boyfriend got me one for my birthday back in June and despite years of research and me buying all the supplies needed including the calcium and vitamins before getting her, I'm still learning new stuff along the way plus they are just so darn cute!

Internet in general plus games (offline gaming)
Everything on the web distracts me
Wikipedia, instant messenger apps, Instagram, Tapas, other webcomic hosting sites, news websites, videos on YouTube and all that jazz.

my own damn brain thinking about how long I have until I go for a break lmao

I'm trying to start focusing less on when I'm done working and more on how much work I can get done with what time I have.

My biggest distraction also happens to be a game. It's called Genshin Impact which I'm sure some will know since it has been attracting a lot of attention. It's so much fun and I spend many hours a day on it, which often prevents me from doing anything productive.

Great game and a relaxing way to take a break from everything but I've been trying to reduce the amount of time I spend on it.

videogames :joy_cat::joy_cat::joy_cat::joy_cat::joy_cat::joy_cat: specially Animal Crossing and Pokemon Masters right now. Maybe some series if I get addicted to, but if I'm lucky they're dubbed in spanish or catalan I watch them on my computer while I work
