What job do you work at other than create comics?

I'm an automation engineer tho I work bidding for the government.

I own a used bookstore in a small town in Washington State, and I've worked in my local library for 16 years. Both great jobs.
It keeps me around book lovers, and gives me lots of inspiration.

And wow! So many of you are freelance artists or studying to become artists and animators! That's so great to hear, because I have seen so many talented people on this site, and talent like that should not be wasted in a dead-end job! I wish all you students the best of luck

Personally, I work as the Sales Manager for one of the Blick Art Materials locations in LA. I work with and meet some amazing artist - as well as other - ahem - lovely people you often find in any retail establishment...

I work at a Panera Bread. I work about 35-40 hours a week on the line and training line associates. I come home a little too tired but still manage to put out a page a week so far!

Chlidren's illustrator for indoor play area's! So I get to draw all day ..... er, kinda, theres also pre-press work (THE DEVIL!!!!!) and 'artworking' not as fun.

When I started working on DOTU, I had a full time job (with a LOT of overtime) as a product developer. It wasn't until I left that job for freelance illustration that I launched the comic. Now, I'm hoping to shift even more of my focus to my comics. Patreon has been amazingly helpful for this so far. But even if it becomes profitable enough to pay all my expenses, I don't think I'd ever give up freelance completely. Freelance helps get me out of my own head every now and then. ^_^

I've been climbing the ladder in the real world, working at different corporate/bureaucratic organizations. But hey, Shakespeare did real estate, Van Gogh was a religious hermit, and Edgar Allan Poe was funemployed before being found half insane in a gutter, so if they can pursue art, so can I!

Once I attained my Legal Studies BA and two certifications, one in law and one in criminal justice, I started working in a large east coast law firm where I work for five lawyers. Insurance Law, defense side, in case you were wondering. Then I go home and draw BL comic pages.

I'll plan to get my JD in the future.

I draw for fun and teach myself.

I work full time as a freelance artist nowadays Before I worked as a barista, working very early hours and then pretending it could work out to go sit drawing comics for 5 hours more (it didn't). I feel like I've been somewhat robbed of time I should have spent getting better at drawing, but I keep forgetting that I learned how to make awesome coffee, sell stuff and I met a whole lot of people I wouldn't have met otherwise.

Other than making comics there are a few illustration gigs and I do a lot of workshops at schools, teaching kids how to tell stories with images. It's a whole lot of fun! And here and there I do other projects that isn't in my "normal" routine, like animation or doing visualization at seminars.

So making webcomics is all I got/can get job wise.
