I use my initials because my real name is hella normie and boring. My initials are coincidentally a really normie name in India. I can never win.

@vothnthorvaldson it’s so interesting how some people are really aligned with their birth name (I’m one of those) while others are so detached from them (one of my siblings has contemplated a legal name change for a long time). Also, how would one pronounce “Vothn”? It’s good that you’ve found a name that works better for you!

I might have spent the rest of my life confused and concerned for you /s yeah, I have an art IG account that I don’t have my real name attached to and I’d like to keep it that way. And then I use a pseudonym here. Keeping everything separate has been good for me (and for many others as well, clearly)

@uselessgoddess I totally understand using a pseudonym as a means of separating work and real life, but it seems like there’s quite a few people who use them because they have an unsupportive environment and that makes me frustrated. But, at least it’s possible online
