Mine is a pen name.
I chose it the same way I choose my character names.
So, things I considered: species (I'm human, I swear), gender, most-fitting genre, pronounceability and memorability. I also googled the name to see if any other author has it already.

:sunglasses:

I am born in the March - Spring and my name is Diana(like the Roman goddess) - Maid

All right, ready to hear the lame and not at all tragic backstory that gave me the name, Red Feather?

Well, here it is!

I like feathers that are red.

Mine is a code name :spy: When we were teenagers, my sister and I invented a way to convert our real names into aliases. The method made no sense at all but it worked for us, and I've been using the resulting name since then.

My father used to call me "Coati", so I pick it to be my artistic name. Its a childhood memory I decided to hold

I just used my comic's name. Lol! But I'm called Jenni, so not too far off I guess.:+1:

@BlunderingAlbatross not a doofus for the name! It’s super fun and memorable and works really well with your current story, too

@Inspector_Spinda “cute but a total moron” omg too funny :see_no_evil: I’m loving all the random Pokémon references in usernames

@IsobelLynx that is the perfect way to go about choosing a name (and similar to what I did when picking out kids names). I’m a tiny bit more relaxed about all the details when it comes to character names though  (you swear you’re human? I wouldn’t have questioned it if you hadn’t brought it up )

@agunceto that’s a fun mix of things to make a username :slight_smile:

@redfeather714 omg I snorted laughing :see_no_evil: :joy: that’s hysterical :joy:

@Hexigate hexagons are pretty freaking cool, so I understand

@Azifri sometimes the method doesn’t need to make sense if the results do  it’s a cool name!

@TheGreatArtisan I like how some of these names just stick around

@Coati aww, that’s really sweet - it’s always nice to have some nostalgia

@Legendofgenii that works perfectly! Especially since it’s so close to your name!

Logical, it's made up! I wanted something that sounded like a first name, but had nothing associated with it

On the forums I use a silly old nickname from when I was a teenager, but on my comic I use my real name. I already have a pretty public profile from professional illo work and stuff, so it makes sense to just go with Kate Holden and continue my ongoing career annoyance: getting confused with an Australian novelist with the same name.

I love your username so much :joy: I was vaguely obsessed with Riki Tiki Tavi when I was a kid and I may or may not be a bit of a Star Wars nerd  so it’s the perfect combination (I’m sure you picked it for very different reasons lol) I mean, getting mixed up with a famous person isn’t quite the end of the world even if it is annoying sometimes

That's er... not that far from the truth of how I ended up with it, honestly. A friend called me Mongoose because I'm small, ginger and angry and WILL FIGHT YOU! Then I wanted to sign up to the Star Wars site to play the caption competition (it was like the year 2000, there wasn't much to do on the internet) and so.... Darth Mongoose. Amazing, teenage me. What a great name.

@ryoko I remember those anime characters in the 90s, guess i'm old .

Allen T, or in precise Allen T. is my current internet name in 2015 to now: as a solo web game creator(was), a comic creator and also one of my Youtube channel that i don't have any content yet.
